“I’m borderline gonna walk out”— Michele and Devin argue in unreleased footage of The Challenge 40

The Challenge 40 dubbed The Battle Of The Eras welcomed old and new faces alike with 40 contestants competing for a prize money of $1 million.

The popular reality series has been running for 26 years and this season consists of four eras with only 24 competitors remaining on The Challenge 40. The show is hosted by TJ Lavin again and its official Instagram account has been steadily releasing unreleased footage from the show.

In the latest clip released on September 27, 2024, Devin Walker and Michele Fitzgerald can be seen arguing in the house. The two have been developing a strong bond during season 40, but the showmance couple had an altercation during episode 5 of the legendary season after Johnny Bananas told Michele to not get attached to Devin and keep her guard up.

Michele confronted Devin about the same and the latter did the same to Bananas. The unreleased footage delves deeper into the conflict as Michele and Devin sit down and open up about how the incident unfolded. Michele stated that Bananas came to her as a friend and was looking out for her as she had been hurt before through previous showmances.

Devin explained that he felt offended due to the words Bananas used as telling someone to "stay guarded" and telling someone that the "whole thing is made up" are two very different things. This makes the incident hard to believe as there are two sides to it. Tori chimed in the pair's conversation and asked Michele to tell them what Bananas said “verbatim”.

As Michele was recounting the story, Devin got angry when Michele mentioned that Olivia Kaiser was also present during that conversation. Devin explained that initially, Michele mentioned that the conversation happened one-on-one which meant what she was saying was not true.

“There’s an inaccuracy already because you told me it was one-on-one. I’m borderline gonna walk out,” stated Devin.

Michele walks out in a fit of rage on The Challenge 40

Devin's angry response prompted Michele to stand up and walk out immediately as she claimed that she was done with the conversation. In an inebriated state, Devin was adamant to know more about Michele's side on The Challenge 40. Michele quipped that Devin was "disrupting something good" referring to their showmance and became emotional when Devin kept pushing.

As Michele stormed out, Kaycee Clark embraced her while Tori tried to explain to Devin that he should calm down and not escalate the situation any further. Tori tried to calm Devin down, telling him, “Your feelings are valid, and you need the salad.” Tori jokingly asks Devin if he wanted a salad which the latter seemed to want if it helped with the current predicament.

Tori expressed that Devin should apologize to Michele which he tried to do by shouting, "Michele, immediate forgiveness!" Michele still wasn't over the conflict and yelled back at Devin to "f*** off!"

CT Tamburello and Theo Campbell had a bus fight on The Challenge 40

In the previously unreleased footage from episode 5, CT and Theo fought during the cast's bus ride. In a confessional, Rachel Robinson states that Theo is known for putting his feet up on the seat during bus rides. She also suggests that might not be the case today as CT was sitting in the back seat.

The footage immediately cuts to CT and Theo fighting and other castmates getting in between to prevent them from doing any further damage. Nehemiah Clark quips that he usually uses the bus time to relax but not today as it was "the demon bus."

In the sixth episode of The Challenge 40, Brad Fiorenza and Jonna Mannion were eliminated. The show can be streamed on MTV and Paramount+.
