Ellie talks about Aesha Scott on Below Deck Mediterranean aftershow
On Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 episode 14, fans could sense some tension between Ellie and the new entry, Carrie. Other cast members could see that Ellie felt threatened by Carrie's presence and how the latter was getting along with Aesha Scott so well. Meanwhile, Aesha was glad an experienced and professional crew member was part of their yacht who might make things easy for her in the future.
During the aftershow, Ellie clarified that she wasn't trying to start a beef with Carrie. She shared her plans of transitioning into a chief stew position. Ellie wanted to learn more about that job and see if she could get knowledge about the duties under Aesha's guidance. After the charter season, the Below Deck Mediterranean cast member felt confident in her abilities to excel.
Ellie further explained:
"I kind of felt really good about the season. We were finally in a good place. I felt comfortable with my job. I felt comfortable with Aesha. It had nothing to do with Carrie."
As Ellie felt her position was being threatened, she wanted to avail the opportunity to gain experience with cocktails, service, set-up, housekeeping, and laundry. After Carrie entered the picture, Ellie felt her position would be soon replaced. She continued:
"So I felt like, 'Okay, this is my time to kind of ask Aesha to teach me anything else I could possibly learn. Maybe about provisioning? Or anything else that she does in her job that maybe I don't see?' It was my chance to kind of gain enough knowledge to be able to then go onto another boat and be confident to do the job on my own."
