Love After Lockup season 5 episode 56, titled Love During Lockup: Dickmatized, premiered on January 17, 2025, on WE. In the episode, Jakeema joined her friend Emma for a dancing class.
"Emma is that one that I just met when I moved here and we just clicked and became friends. When she invited me to dance class, I'm like, 'Why not?' My kids are at school. And I need to take my mind off everything that's been happening with Donny. They instructed his uncle to send $500 to Cash App," she said in her confessional.
Jakeema found out that her partner Donny was being moved to a different facility and had some drug charges with this name. She was also taken off of his visitation list. She later had a conversation with her friend Emma about the same and told her that she was irritated at Donny and the situation that he had put her in.
"No, he's at the [jail]. He moved facilities and they took me off his visitation list. So I don't know what's going on, but I'm irritated," she told Emma.
Later in her confessional, Jakeema shared that she hadn't heard from Donny for a few days and still had no idea what happened with his situation. She added that she had moved to Ohio so that she could be near him. However, now she can't visit him and her moving to Ohio was of no use.
Love After Lockup star Jakeema confronts Donny on his new charges
In Love After Lockup season 5, episode 56, after wrapping up her dance session, Jakeema received a call from Donny. During the conversation, he revealed that he had been transferred to a new facility called NEOCC. Donny mentioned that the new location was even farther than Marrion, that is, three hours away from where Jakeema was staying and he would be staying there for about eight months.
Jakeema asked her Love After Lockup partner why her name and cash tag were in his mess and if he was involved in "something regarding drugs."
"I don't know. I'm trying to figure things out. All you're doing is receiving rent money... legitimate money. That's all. It ain't nothing wrong with that. It ain't nothing to do with no, no illegal stuff... ain't nobody doing nothing wrong... everything is, is right with me. And I would never put you in a situation like that," he replied.
Jakeema told Donny that she didn't want her name tied with anything regarding drugs or his imprisonment. She had kids and expressed her desire to stay out of Donny's mess.
Donny assured Jakeem that he wasn't involved in anything wrong. He empathized that just because he made some mistakes in his past doesn't mean that he was the same person.
"I feel like it was stereotyping... because I was a drug dealer once upon a time... doesn't mean that that's who I was all my life," he added in his confessions.
The Love After Lockup star continued:
"I graduated high school. I went to college. I was trying to get a job and it was like every job kept overlooking me. So I just was like, you know, I gotta figure something out. And that was the fastest way. It was the wrong way, but it was the fastest way."
Donny later informed Jakeema that his transfer to the new facility would not impact the length of his prison sentence. He explained that he would still be required to serve the remaining two and a half years of his term.
Jakeema was heartbroken knowing she would have to be without her Love After Lockup partner for over two years. Adding to her frustration, she wasn’t permitted to visit him at the new facility.
"I love Donnie, but once I got here everything just spiraled downhill and hopefully we can come back from that," she expressed in her confessional.
Love After Lockup season 5 episodes premiere every Friday on WE.
