Love Island All Stars continued to entertain viewers with its latest episode airing on January 24, 2025, as the returning Islanders navigated fresh challenges in the South African villa.

Among the cast was Montel McKenzie, who had previously appeared on Love Island season 10 in 2023. Reflecting on his earlier experience, Montel addressed how some viewers had misunderstood his reserved personality. He explained,

“I think people thought I was a bit boring or not that talkative, but there was just no drama for me. Some people like to talk up when there’s loads of people in the room to be the loudest. I’m not going to compete with someone and speak the loudest. I’m just chill.”

Montel’s return to the show allowed him a chance to reshape his narrative and revisit the villa environment. Here’s a look back at his original Love Island journey and what happened in his life afterward.

Montel’s journey on Love Island season 10

Montel had entered the show's season 10 on day 16. He quickly coupled up with Leah Taylor, and their relationship started with their mutual bonding. However, the Casa Amor twist tested their connection when Montel explored a bond with newcomer Tink. Despite this, he decided to remain loyal to Leah during the recoupling.

"Our time in the villa was absolutely incredible, but we've actually decided to just be friends,” Leah told in an interview with The Sun.

After Casa Amor, trust issues between Montel and Leah became apparent, leading to some tense conversations. The couple continued their journey until day 38, when they were dumped from the villa. While they left the show as a couple, they announced their breakup two weeks later. Leah later revealed that unresolved trust concerns had contributed to their decision, stating,

“A lot of it stemmed from what happened at the villa, in Casa. There was quite an issue of trust. I think it was just a good thing for us.”

Montel’s life outside the villa and Love Island: All Stars return

After leaving the villa, Montel returned to his role as a defender for Billericay Town FC, a seventh-tier football team in Essex. However, an injury in early 2025 sidelined him from playing for four to six weeks, prompting him to join latest edition of the show. His team publicly supported his decision, sharing a post wishing him well during his time on the show.

"The Club can now confirm Montel McKenzie will be appearing on Love Island All Stars for the next couple of weeks. He is currently out for four to six weeks due to injury so has decided to return to the television arena 📺 Best of luck, Montel 👊 #BTFC "

On Instagram, @montelmckenzie Montel shares updates from his football career, fitness routines, and personal style, with his 101k followers. Fans closely followed his journey as he stepped back into the villa, curious to see whether he would form new connections or redefine his image on the show.

In the latest episode of Love Island: All Stars, aired on January 24, 2025, new bombshells Harriett Blackmore and Montel McKenzie entered the villa, choosing partners that led to mixed reactions among the Islanders.
