The Traitors is a popular American reality series based on the Dutch series De Verraders with over 30 iterations of the show currently in production in different countries. Former NFL star Jason Kelce and his brother Travis Kelce discussed the reality show on their podcast, New Heights, on the September 25th episode.
Jason Kelce was a former professional football player who played as a center for the Philadelphia Eagles while Travis Kelce currently plays as a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. The brothers dished about their chances on The Traitors if they were ever allowed to appear on the show. Travis expressed that Jason "would f***ing crush it on Traitors".
The former NFL star responded by claiming that he had played the game before with his friends while climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Jason revealed that he was terrible at it and an awful liar. When Travis pointed out that he could use that to his advantage, Jason disagreed with his brother.
"But I'm not savvy enough. We did it one time, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. I was voted... right away they knew. They're like, 'Jason's a traitor' and I was like, 'No I'm not!'"
Kelce brothers believe they would be a great addition to The Traitors
Travis said that he found the round table confrontation hilarious. In the series, over 20 contestants try to win the prize money of $250,000 and are cast into two teams, the Traitors and the Faithfuls. During the round table confrontation, Faithfuls calls out the Traitors from the cast members in an attempt to banish them.
Travis also claimed to love seeing people react under pressure and what makes them fold while Jason remarked that he was "taking notes." Travis later mentioned that he just wanted to play the game and that he would be better as a faithful. Jason hilariously responded by pointing out Travis' upcoming appearance in the FX series Grotesquerie and said Travis would be good in either one:
"If you can be a lead actor in an FX original series," quipped Jason.
Travis laughed off the remark and stated that calling his role in the series as a lead actor was a "f***ing stretch." Grotesquerie is a horror drama television series created by Ryan Murphy, creator of shows like Glee and American Horror Stories.
