With the release of the two new episodes of Love is Blind season 7 on October 16, 2024, fans have witnessed various unexpected twists and turns from inside and outside the pods. The show, which featured 14 single men and 15 single women at the start, did not allow participants to use their phones as they talked to other singles behind a wall, hoping to find a life partner.
By the end of 11 episodes, three Love Is Blind couples survived the trials and tribulations the experiment brought. One such couple is Tyler and Ashley, who connected in the pods and formed a deeper bond in the show. In episode 11, the couple shared their love for sports and went for go-karting and skydiving together.
Just before the couple was about to take the leap of faith, Tyler was bemused by the idea of jumping from a moving plane. Ashley chimed in and reminded her partner that it was his idea in the pods to do so and that he should not back down. In a confessional, Ashley revealed that even though she was afraid, she had long wanted to experience the fall from a plane.
"I'm terrified, honestly. Skydiving, it's always something I wanted to do prior to getting married. I just like the idea of taking an actual leap of faith, metaphorically and actually," Ashley said.
The couple ultimately faced their fears together and are now stronger than ever in their journey to the altar.
Journey of Love Is Blind stars Tyler and Ashley explored
Ashley and Tyler were able to connect as early as their first dates. Despite the former military man, Tyler, feeling nervous about the whole scenario, he expressed that Ashley's soothing voice helped him calm down. Ashley liked that Tyler had a different side to his tough demeanor and could be vulnerable with her.
The couple was surprised to learn that they were the ones cooking for their fellow singles, and they further connected on a deeper level when they shared that they wanted to skydive together. Tyler opened up to Ashley about his childhood struggles on Love Is Blind, which touched Ashley as men in her life had not opened up to her previously.
Just before they agreed to meet face-to-face for the first time on Love Is Blind, Ashley surprised Tyler on his birthday by sending him a birthday cake and balloons. She later read her journal to Tyler, in which she expressed her gratitude and feelings for the birthday boy.
“I’ve never had a man choose to be with me just based on my heart alone. I truly feel honored to have the opportunity to be loved by someone like you,” read Ashley.
Tyler exclaimed that this confession was the best birthday gift he had ever received and got down on one knee to propose to Ashley. They later met, and Ashley couldn't stop smiling as they agreed to become a couple outside the pods. After their honeymoon in Mexico, Tyler and Ashley seemed to fall even harder in love.
Ashley introduced her father to Tyler, who was initially wary of him. But after their conversation, her father saw plenty of potential in Tyler as he treated her daughter well. By the end of their meeting on Love Is Blind, he gave Tyler and Ashley his blessing and asked his potential future son-in-law to continue growing as a man.
The couple eventually butt heads as Tyler revealed to Ashley that he had donated his sperm to a needy couple with which they had birthed three kids. Shocked by the revelation, Ashley eventually declared that she would fight for their relationship no matter what.
