Season 3 of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On premiered on Netflix on November 4. At the end of episode 2, the newly single contestants chose their trial partners. In episode 3, Vanessa and Nick selected each other for a trial marriage, bonding over their shared "weirdness" and expressing gratitude for meeting.

Vanessa joined the experiment after issuing Dave an ultimatum, but her interest in Nick—who was also eager to settle down—left Dave questioning his decision to participate. Her growing connection with Nick only deepened Dave's doubts about their future together.

"Vanessa has feelings for somebody who's ready to get married That could be really… terrible for our relationship. It feels like maybe I made a mistake in coming here," Dave said in his confessional

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 episode 3 started with Sandy and T.J. choosing each other as their trial partner.

This deeply affected Sandy's ex, Nick, who shared that it had been challenging and took a long time for his former partner to open up to him. In contrast, things appeared to flow effortlessly between Sandy and J.R.

"This is… hard. Harder than I anticipated. I came in with an idea of what it was going to be, and I got smacked right in the face. So if it is that something was lacking in us, and you discover that in a new relationship, I'm honestly, truly hopeful that whatever comes from this experience, you get the best result," Nick told Sandy.

Vanessa spoke up, expressing how challenging it was to watch her ex connect with someone else in a way she had hoped to experience herself—the emotions, feelings, and love she had longed for.

Vanessa initially struggled to connect with anyone during the first poolside date. However, as the dates progressed, she felt Nick gave her the confidence to be herself without feeling awkward. She praised Nick, saying he is someone "anyone would be lucky to be married to."

Nick chimed in and shared that he issued the ultimatum to his ex, and expressed how he was ready to get married. He admitted to being "extremely emotional through this phase" and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to connect with Vanessa.

"So to meet somebody who is a kindred spirit. She's an onion. It's also-- And we're also weird onions, basically. It's very easy to be around somebody who's also as weird as me. And she's brilliant, she's intelligent, she's gorgeous, and she has a soul that I am very grateful that I have been able to interact with," Nick said about Vanessa.

Vanessa was the first to choose a trial partner and selected Nick as her trial husband. She shared how easy it was to be herself around him, without the fear of judgment. Excited about their future together, she mentioned the potential for growth throughout the process.

Nick also chose Vanessa, sharing how his time with her allowed him to learn more about himself and grow as a person.

"I know that, through this experience, I will be a better person, and I'm excited for it. You are somebody I've met in a past life, for sure. You are somebody I trusted immediately. I just can't imagine having gone through this without you," The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On star continued.

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 episodes 1-5 are available on Netflix.
