Aria stated that she called the engagement off the day after Scotty proposed to her because she believed their relationship was going too "fast."
She revealed that she wanted to work on their "foundation" a little more and praised Scotty for understanding. While explaining the end of their engagement, she said that soon after the proposal, they spoke about telling their parents the news but she didn't want to. However, they clarified that despite not being engaged anymore, they were together after the show.
"We continued to see each other and work through our things," Aria said.
The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 cast member said that it was not bad in the beginning because they were moving towards something she wanted and believed Scotty also wanted. Aria further explained that the couple started to "go back" to their old ways.
The two agreed to go to couples therapy and spoke to Scotty directly and told him she didn't want to feel like she was "nagging" him all the time. She added that she was nagging her boyfriend for a "whole year." Although Scotty gave her the ultimatum to come on the Netflix show, Aria revealed she gave him an ultimatum in the year after the show.
"I said, "If we don't do therapy, I'm done. I'm done. I don't know if he thought I was joking, but I wasn't joking," Aria said.
The cast member further said she wasn't trying to hurt Scotty but he didn't love her the way she wanted to be loved.
The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 male cast member stated that he felt he made a mistake when he proposed to Aria. However, the mistake wasn't the proposal itself but what he told her at that moment. Scotty explained he wanted to show her that he was "always" going to love her" and be there for her.
Scotty revealed they went to therapy but the problem was it wasn't on Aria's time and Aria interrupted that Scotty wanted to do it "a year later." She said she felt he was giving excuses and not taking accountability. The female cast member got emotional and said she always had to ask him to apologize to her and that she was "tired of it."
The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 star Scotty apologized to Aria but said there was "so much context missing." Scotty said a lot of things happened after the show but didn't think it was his place to tell. When Vanessa Lachey asked Aria if she wanted to share what transpired, she said that "a lot of hard things happened."
The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 3 star said she lost her grandmother who was like a best friend to her.
"So that was really hard, and I ended up having a miscarriage. So, just a lot of emotionally, like, I'm not just giving up on the relationship 'cause I don't care. It's because I'm tired. I'm emotionally exhausted," she said.
She added that she didn't want Scotty to think that she "just gave up" because that's how he was depicting the end of their relationship.
