After their bitter breakup was disclosed to the world, Tim turned to social media to chime in on his split and reveal his side of the story. The Love is Blind cast member opened up about his separation from Alex in an Instagram post, shared on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.

"Through hours of tough conversations that weren't seen, I made the decision to remove myself from what felt like a toxic situation where I was being manipulated and given no serious effort from my partner," Tim said.

The Love is Blind cast member wrote about Alex's lack of initiative and effort to rework their dwindling connection, citing it as one of the main causes of their split. Tim also mentioned that the audience's reaction to their breakup would have differed if their genders were reversed.

In the Instagram post he shared on Thursday, Tim addressed the issues he encountered while engaged to Alex. The Love is Blind star claimed that his "love, authenticity, and respect" were consistently met with a "lack of effort" and "constant antagonizing" from Alex.

He added that there was a lack of respect for his physical and mental space in the relationship. Consequently, Tim proceeded with certain "firm and unmistakable terms" and called off his engagement with Alex.

The Love is Blind star revealed there was a significant part of their relationship that was not showcased onscreen. He admitted that some were left out in "an attempt to protect something" he once held dear.

Tim confessed he was "far from a perfect person" as he made mistakes and fell "short of glory as often as others." Despite that, he believed he and his family deserved "an amount of respect." Since "others" failed to display that, he took it as his responsibility to stand up to the occasion.

"Meet people where they are," Tim said.

The Love is Blind star revealed that he had "never argued with someone with the amount of consistency" as he did with Alex. He attempted to keep their disputes behind the curtains, hoping for a positive outcome. However, after realizing what it felt like to be in a "toxic situation," Tim decided to distance himself from his partner.

He firmly believed the conversation around their story would differ if the genders were reversed. Tim explained that he did not say that "to be a victim," but wanted to shed light on his partner's "lack of accountability" and "self-reflection."

"I don't say that seeking to be a victim but I say it to point out the lack of accountability and sincere self-reflection that that one should do when they subject anyone to such consistently mean spirited treatment, let alone to someone you claim to love," Tim stated.

He then addressed the people who wanted him to continue his relationship with Alex even though it drained him "emotionally and mentally." Tim refused to apologize to them because he was not okay with his "extended family" being shown a "lack of intent."

Lastly, the Love is Blind star mentioned that it was unfortunate he could not remain friends with the person he used to love because they lived in "two different realities." Tim stressed that the projection of his image as an "angry or controlling person" only made him want to fight the stereotypes.

"There is nothing left to say. There is nothing left to talk about. Do the work. Be better. Grow," he concluded.

Meanwhile, Alex re-shared a friend's Instagram Story on October 16, 2024, and wrote beneath it, "Can't wait for the reunion for alllll the truth to come out." Her subsequent Stories also delved into her split from Tim, implying that there was more to the breakup than what was shown.

Likewise, Tim continued sharing Stories justifying his action, claiming he chose to value his peace over the relationship.
