The latest season of the long-running reality show, Big Brother is coming to an end with just three houseguests remaining in contention to win the ultimate prize money of $750,000. In Thursday, October 10 episode, Rubina Bernabe was the latest to depart as she failed to win the Head of Household and Power of Veto competitions and safeguard her spot.

Rubina plotted her way with Makensy and Chelsie in the show and pitched her safety through the idea of an all-girl top 3 in Big Brother. The rest of the ladies had Cam and Rubina to vote from and the ladies chose Cam to stay in the house. They argued that the jury members would prefer Rubina over Cam as the latter had not won anything in the competition, unlike Rubina.

In an October 11 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Rubina was asked about her thoughts on a hypothetical situation where she was in the finale of Big Brother and pitching to the jury members to vote for her win. She contemplated that even though it would have been tough, she still had good chances because of her previous alliances being present on the jury.

"If I had made it to the final two, I honestly think it would be an uphill battle given I really only won one competition. But I know I had two besties in there, so I think all it would take is convincing two more people and I might've won the whole thing," stated Rubina.

Rubina's journey on Big Brother 26 and more explored

Rubina Bernabe, the event bartender, stayed in the Big Brother house for 87 days. Early on, she was voted out but brought back by Kimo Apaka and T'kor Clottey, with whom she stayed close until they left. She mostly stayed under the radar until she connected with Tucker Des Lauriers. Their friendship eventually turned into romantic feelings, which they admitted to each other.

Tucker won almost all of the competitions while he was present in Big Brother's house which brought a lot of attention to him. The rest of the house wanted him gone since he established himself as a tough competitor. Quinn tried to weaken him by putting Rubina's name up for elimination but T'kor and Kimo came to the rescue thus locking the four as a team.

Later in the competition, Tucker volunteered to be a pawn on T'kor's HoH, but to the surprise of many was evicted as the houseguests turned to survival mode as Tucker and Rubina's showmance came into the forefront.

In the same interview with Entertainment Weekly, she had nothing but positive things to say about her time with Tucker, even wishing to continue their relationship outside the house of Big Brother despite living far apart in real life.

"As far as a future with Tucker, I'm 35. I feel lucky to have even met someone at this point who I actually truly connect with. I am kind of hoping that it goes further than just inside the house. We live on different coasts, but I think I'm willing to make it work if he's willing to," expressed Rubina.

Rubina's only victory in the competition came in the AI Arena competition. As her allies went home, she remained strong and reached the final four. As mentioned earlier, she was voted out by Makensy Manbeck after winning PoV and was evicted from the house.

In other news, Taylor Hale was announced as the jury roundtable host for the season finale of Big Brother 26. Catch the next episode on October 13, 2024 on CBS.
