"I was so novice" — Jessica Vestal opens up about her Perfect Match journey

Perfect Match season 2 star Jessica Vestal recently sat down for an interview with Access Hollywood, along with Tolu Ekundre, Micah Lussier, and Xanthi Perdikomatis. Released on June 11, 2024, Jessica opened up about her journey, with her match Harry Jowsey. She shared that she could have handled situations differently and been more strategic in her approach. She said:

"He's [Harry's] essentially like a veteran in the reality TV space and I was so novice, like, my show [Love is Blind] wasn't even out yet so there was a lot I was not comfortable with, I was so out of my element."

Jessica had previously appeared in Love is Blind season 6, where she dated fellow cast member, Jimmy Presnell. However, their relationship did not come to fruition. Jessica returned to reality TV with Perfect Match, to give love another chance.

Jessica Vestal felt she was inexperienced for Perfect Match season 2

When Jessica Vestal was asked how different her Perfect Match experience was from Love is Blind, she said it was "dramatically" different. She mentioned the time she spent on the previous show was great and that she would happily recreate such romance in the real world.

Although she did not get the results she hoped for, Jessica was motivated to reappear on the Netflix reality universe to give love another try.

However, Jessica Vestal confessed she entered Perfect Match with the wrong mindset. Due to the scandalous nature of the show, Jessica recalled it was difficult to trust what people said or did. In Love is Blind, singles approached the game emotionally, whereas in Perfect Match singles came with a strategic plan rather than an emotional one.

When asked about her relationship with Harry Jowsey, she mentioned she focused on him and him only. However, Harry Jowsey appeared seemingly unpredictable in his dedication toward her. According to her, he behaved differently with her than with the others. His actions allegedly did not match his words. Jessica shared:

"Harry must've been doing something when I wasn't in the room than when I was because, like, the conversations he and I were having in private were very mature."

Although Harry appeared "marriage-minded" to Jessica, she was left with an unexpected situation when he got accused of allegedly kissing fellow co-star Melinda Berry.

Talking about Harry's dating experience on reality TV, Jessica called him a "veteran" because he had previously appeared on Too Hot to Handle and Heartbreak Island among others.

On the other hand, Jessica Vestal's show Love is Blind had not even aired while Perfect Match was being filmed. So, she was still unaccustomed to whole dating game-show format.

Since Harry was familiar with the show's format, Jessica accepted everything he said to her and followed his instructions without putting much thought into it. Jessica Vestal expressed:

"He would be like, 'Just stay fixated on me and what I'm telling you and not the chaos going on around us,' so he was like my comfort zone, so at that point I did not have a reason to not take what he was saying at face value."

Jessica applied her Love is Blind experience and committed to one person despite warnings from other cast members regarding Harry's dating history. As a result, she faced multiple obstacles in building a trustful relationship with him.

Jessica Vestal regretted going to the show fixated on the idea of finding a father figure for her daughter, Autumn. She expressed her experience could have been better if she had gone in with a lighthearted game plan and explored other options when things did not look pleasant with Harry.

Currently, the couple is headed to the Perfect Match finale, where the truth about Harry's alleged kiss and the future of Jessica's relationship with Harry will be revealed.
