Marissa George, a participant in Season 7 of Love Is Blind, recently described her breakup with Ramses Prashad as shocking and painful in an interview. After appearing to be one of the strongest couples in the experiment, their relationship unraveled just days before their wedding.

Marissa in an interview with Vulture on October 23, reflected on how the relationship, once full of promise, ended abruptly. Their separation, which played out in one of the season's most dramatic episodes, left many viewers stunned and eager for answers. While talking about the struggles in the relationship, she shared:

"I was pretty blindsided by the level of doubt and uncertainty he felt. Before that, our hardest day was us talking about a conversation he had with a family friend about how his last marriage ended and how his ex-wife had taken it."

According to Marissa, there were several reasons for the downfall of their relationship. In the interview, she also shared how she coped with the heartache that followed.

Love is Blind: The relationship breakdown

When Marissa and Ramses left the pods of Love Is Blind and entered the honeymoon phase, they seemed like a good match. The couple had strong chemistry. However, cracks in their relationship became apparent as they faced disagreements over key issues such as the military, family planning, and intimacy.

Marissa revealed that Ramses began to disengage as the wedding approached. She noticed his growing disinterest in wedding planning, even brushing aside moments when he failed to show enthusiasm. She recalled:

"I could tell in his lack of enthusiasm. Initially, he was like, “I want to be all involved,” and then toward the end, I was doing everything... he wasn’t answering wedding-planning emails..."

Despite asking him directly if he had doubts, Ramses repeatedly reassured her, only to later admit his uncertainties.

Calling off the wedding

The decision to call off the wedding hit Marissa hard. What made the situation even more jarring for her was Ramses’ sudden change of heart.

"He kept saying, ‘I love you. I want to be with you,’ but then he said, ‘I don’t want to do anything anymore,’" Marissa explained in the interview.

This left her in disbelief, feeling as though her world had turned upside down. Despite the breakup, Marissa offered Ramses alternatives, suggesting they remain engaged or continue dating. However, Ramses had already made up his mind.

The finality of Ramses' decision made it clear that their relationship was over for good, leaving Marissa heartbroken.

Intimacy issues and disagreements

Intimacy also played a significant role in the couple’s struggles in Love Is Blind. Marissa shared that Ramses’ concerns about physical intimacy became a point of contention, particularly when illness prevented her from being intimate.

Ramses’ reaction to her health issues, including her vitamin D deficiency and PMS, left her feeling unsupported. His reluctance to discuss birth control and family planning only added to the tension.

"We decided to track my menstrual cycle and use condoms or abstain during ovulation," Marissa explained.

However, she admitted that Ramses resisted using condoms, revealing an imbalance in how they approached their relationship's physical aspects. Reflicting on how this issue contributed to their growing disconnect, she added:

"Looking back, I realize I should have been more firm."

Love Is Blind: Aftermath of the breakup

The emotional toll of the breakup was heavy for Marissa. In the days following the split, she described feeling devastated and disoriented.

"I cried a lot. I couldn’t speak... I didn’t really want to exist," she confessed.

The heartbreak left her questioning her self-worth and the progress she had made through years of therapy.

To heal, Marissa turned to therapy and surrounded herself with supportive friends and family. She also took time away from drinking and reckless behavior to focus on her well-being.

"It took me about six months to feel like somewhat of a normal person again," she shared, acknowledging the difficult road to recovery.

The end of their relationship

For Love Is Blind viewers, Marissa and Ramses' breakup was an emotional moment of the season. What began as a relationship filled with promise ended in disappointment, leaving fans wondering what went wrong.

Marissa’s account sheds light on the challenges they faced behind the scenes — from communication breakdowns to intimacy issues and Ramses' growing doubts.

Fans await the reunion episode of Love Is Blind, which will be released on October 30, on Netflix.
