Big Brother season 26 aired its latest episode on Thursday, August 22, 2024. It featured another live eviction that stirred the dynamics of the house. Chelsie, Cam, and Brooklyn were the three nominees at risk of going home.
Brooklyn was evicted from the house after receiving eight votes in her name. Although she campaigned for herself, she failed to convince the others to let her stay in the house. Week two evictee, Lisa Weintraub, joined Big Brother host Julie Chen Moonves for an interview where she chimed in on the unpredictability of the houseguests.
In the video posted on Julie's official Instagram handle on August 21, 2024, Lisa revisited her elimination and said:
"I thought I had numbers, I thought I had friends, I thought I had alliances which people didn't follow through on the way I was choosing to follow through on and we have different ways of [understanding] what alliance means."
She said she was "blindsided." Since Big Brother demanded that the houseguests engage in a game of lies, deception, and schemes, the female cast member admitted that she made a mistake by trusting the players with her elimination.
She was sent packing after receiving 11 votes in her name, while Angela received only one.
Big Brother star Lisa says she was living in a "reality" different from the other houseguests
When Julie asked Lisa if she had watched the episodes leading to her elimination, the latter answered in the affirmative. The Big Brother star admitted that she realized everything that was going on behind closed doors only after watching the episodes.
"So, there obviously was a reality that I was living in that wasn't the reality of all of my other houseguests," said Lisa.
She "uncovered" that the houseguests were "spreading a lot of lies," which misguided her. She mentioned that "shocking" rumors about her were circulating in the house. It was something she became aware of after leaving the house.
She admitted she felt "blindsided" when the elimination results were announced. She was under the impression that the houseguests wanted to evict Angela and not her. She previously revealed that her sole purpose while on the block was to prevent Angela from winning any immunity challenges.
"That is not how I wanted to play and that is not the kind of person I wanted to be," added Lisa.
Although lying was "part of Big Brother," Lisa claimed the houseguests often created unnecessary false narratives. Watching the show back, she realized "one or two" people were responsible for crafting her elimination by giving her fake reassurance.
Tucker, who reassured Lisa the most, played the biggest role in swaying the eviction against her. He allied with HoH Chelsie and even volunteered as a pawn to win the AI Arena challenge to ensure Lisa's elimination.
Despite the tension, Lisa told Julie she wanted to have "transparent conversations" with the houseguests "outside the game," in real life. She did not want their gameplay to influence the relationships she might be able to develop with them.
"I think building my friendships with people will come when people are evicted, have had time to decompress, have had time to understand their journey outside of the house," said Lisa.
Towards the end of her interview, she revealed she wanted T'Kor to win because she was one of her good friends on the show. She was the only cast member who hugged Lisa during her elimination and apologized for how things unfolded. The Big Brother cast member said it showed "character," "heart," and "integrity in the face of a difficult situation."
Big Brother season 26 will return to CBS with a new episode on Sunday, August 25, 2024.
