"I thought it was very soon" - Sister Wives star Christine's daughter Ysabel reflects on David's proposal to her mother

Sister Wives season 19 episode 17, titled Love is Patient, Love is Kin, premiered on TLC on January 12, 2025. The episode covered Christine and David's long-awaited wedding ceremony, which took place in October 2023.

As Christine was getting ready to stand at the altar, her daughter Ysabel sat down with her and told her that she noticed that David loved her mother so much.

Later in her confessional Ysabel admitted that when David first proposed to her mother she felt worried, believing that it was "very soon." However, after spending more time with him, she realized how deeply the couple loved each other.

“When David first proposed to my mom, I thought it was very soon. I thought it was too soon. But I think I’ve had time to, like, adjust to it. It’s given me a lot more clarity to see, like, how much they love each other. I’m just excited and happy for them,” she said in her confessional.

Sister Wives star Ysabel shares her thoughts on Christine and David's marriage

Christine Allred was Sister Wives star Kody Brown's third wife. Christine's sister introduced her to Kody in 1990 and after becoming close friends the two got spiritually married on March 25, 1994.

After 27 years of marriage, Christine realized she was no longer happy with Kody, leading to the end of their spiritual union in November 2021. Throughout their relationship, the former Sister Wives couple had 6 children: son Paedon and daughters Mykelti, Gwendlyn, Aspyn, Ysabel, and Truely.

Following their breakup, Christine entered a relationship with David in February 2023. Just two months later, David proposed to Christine and the pair later got married in October 2023.

Their wedding ceremony was shown in Sister Wives season 19 episode 17. As Christine prepared to walk down the aisle, her daughter Ysabel took a moment to share her thoughts on David with her mother.

Ysabel reflected on a time when their family was out of town, recalling how David consistently made an effort to express his love for her mother.

“We were out of town and he looked at you and he was like, ‘Oh, I love you so much. Like, just honest and pure. And I’ve never heard somebody say ‘I love you’ that much to you,” she said.

Christine was delighted to hear that her daughter shared the same sentiment, recognizing how much love David had for her.

In her confessional, Ysabel shared that while she initially felt that her mom and David got engaged "very soon", she later realized how deeply the couple loved each other and was at ease with the decision.

“I think that I’ve gotten time to get to know David and to get to know him, like, as a father and as someone who’s just a really awesome guy. I couldn’t imagine life without him now,” Sister Wives star added after the wedding ceremony.

Christine and David's wedding

Christine was accompanied by her son, Paedon, as she walked down the aisle. Overwhelmed with emotion, Paedon struggled to hold back tears and told his mother that David was truly a good man.

Paedon then handed Christine's hand to her father, Rex, who then completed the walk to the altar.

“I told [him], ‘Am I supposed to be nervous?'. I’m not even nervous. And then we started walking and I just looked over at David, and it’s like, ‘There’s my heart,'” Christine recalled in a confessional.

Christine and David got married after exchanging their vows. Christine’s children along with Janelle and her kids were present at the celebration to witness Christine entering a new phase of her life.

Kody and Robyn weren't invited to the ceremony. However, Kody later expressed in the episode that he was happy for the married couple.

“Really where I’m at is Christine’s happy and that’s great,” he added.
