"I truly felt seen" — The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On star Scotty chooses Zaina as his trial partner

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On Season 3 aired Episodes 1 to 5 on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, on Netflix. The show introduced six new couples who were at odds as one partner in the couple had given their significant other an ultimatum to either marry or move on.

After spending time with one another, the couples were declared broken up as they continued their journey on the show as single individuals. In Episode 2, they had to choose one of the other singles to be in a three-week trial marriage with during a ceremony called The Choice.

Scotty, who entered the show with Aria, explained how his week had been so far, and the cast member stated he had learned a lot about himself. He said he wanted a partner who trusted who he was and detailed his time with Zaina so far. He praised her by stating she was fun to be around and said they were able to get "really deep, really, really quickly."

"I truly felt seen," he said.

Scotty and Zaina couple up during The Choice in The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On Season 3 Episode 2

In The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On Season 3 Episode 2, titled, The Choice, the former couples reunited after spending a week getting to know one another. At the Choice ceremony, each individual had to pick new partners with whom they would spend the following three weeks living.

Scotty was the first to open up about his experience on the show so far and said he learned a lot about himself. He said that dating new people while trying to be mindful of his ex's feelings and emotions. The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On star added that he felt like he made some mistakes.

Host Nick Lachey asked Scotty to chime in on his connection with Zaina and he said she was fun to be around. He added that they were able to connect deeply in a short time. While speaking to the female cast member directly, he praised her for knowing what she wanted.

"And I think for me, as somebody that issued the ultimatum, it's really important to understand the qualities and characteristics that you are looking for in a person," Scotty said.

He told Zaina he knew she would be "the best mom" and the "best wife." While speaking about his relationship with Aria, he said that they had been together for three years and he still sometimes felt that he was fighting for "someone to see the person" Scotty was.

"That I'm not a bad person. And that I'm gonna love someone with my whole heart," he added.

He told her his intentions were not malicious and that he wasn't trying to be "petty" but noted that every time he and Zaina spoke, The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On star felt "seen."

Zaina appreciated Scotty's honesty and for seeing her for who she was. The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On Season 3 participant said some people were not ready to receive the type of love she wanted to give, which is why she appreciated Scotty's words.

"And it's hard when you meet someone within a week, and they can just see who you are in your heart," she added.

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On star added she felt that sometimes got lost in a long-term relationship where people would take their partners for granted.

Host, Nicky Lachey asked Scotty whether he was ready to choose and he chose Zaina. The latter also chose The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On Season 3 participant as her "trial husband."
