Love Is Blind Argentina premiered on November 6, 2024, with the first four episodes. The reality show witnessed 16 men, and 16 women enter the pods hoping to mingle with other singles and find the love of their lives.

The dating franchise is one of Netflix's most successful productions, having released over 10 spin-offs. This is the second Latin American version of the show after Love Is Blind Mexico, released earlier this year. The singles hoped to form a genuine connection in the pods before moving on to the honeymoon phase.

Mauricio and Maria were one of the couples who managed to connect in the first episode of Love Is Blind Argentina. They both connected emotionally as they found similarities in having grown-up kids and separated parents.

Hesitant and anxious at first, Mauricio opened up that after talking to Maria, he could feel she had a strong presence and wanted to pursue the latter over other female participants of Love Is Blind Argentina.

"I'm beaming after today's conversation with Maria. I don't wanna talk to anybody else," stated Mauricio.

What happened to Mauricio and Maria in episode 1 of Love Is Blind Argentina?

Mauricio expressed that he had difficulty discussing relationships as his parents were separated. He confessed to going to therapy to fix his issues. When the two met in the pods, both made it clear that they had a strong desire to get married through Love Is Blind Argentina.

Both joked around as they shared intimate details, but Maria was unsure whether Mauricio took the experiment seriously or not. She later confessed to loving his energy regarding family and daughter, as she could compare that bond to what she and her father had.

"I really love Mauri's father energy. It made me think about how close I used to be with my father. It's very endearing, and it's a trait I like in a partner," said Maria in a confessional.

Mauricio mentioned that he had a 12-year-old daughter, which prompted Maria to share information about her 23-year-old son. The former confessed that he felt a strong presence from Maria, which he had desired in his life. Maria initially connected with Marino as well, but she heard other women talk about him in a negative light.

She was further surprised when she learned that Mauricio was anticipating their second date on Love Is Blind Argentina. Maria said in a confessional that Mauricio was walking a fine line between narcissistic and confident. She appreciated that Mauricio was a sensitive man, a quality Maria had sought.

Despite that development, she went on a second date with Marino. The latter was grateful that Maria wasn't making her mind up based on anyone else's perception. Day 3 saw Mauricio and Maria connect again as they opened up about physical intimacy. Mauricio later recited a sonnet written by Pablo Neruda that went:

"I don't love you as you were a rose of salt, topaz, or an arrow of carnations that propagate fire. I love you as one loves certain obscure things, secretly, between the shadows and the sun."

This gesture impressed Maria on Love Is Blind Argentina as she revealed to be a fan of the poet herself. Mauricio later pondered whether they had a bond that extended past physical attraction, to which Maria responded with a resounding yes. She still wanted Mauricio to open up more during the experiment as he sometimes felt "evasive."

By the end of the first phase of episodes, Mauricio and Maria chose each other. They went on the honeymoon phase with the other couples who decided to get engaged on Love Is Blind Argentina.
