Love is Blind: Mexico released Episodes 5-8 on Thursday, August 8, 2024. Fernando and Karen, Silvia and Chema, Fernanda and Gerardo, and Willy and Francesca were the four couples who exited their honeymoon retreat to live life in Mexico City as engaged couples. Saul and Leti broke up because their ideologies clashed.

Irais and Rene reunited and joined the others as the fifth couple. The cast members geared up to meet each other's families and interact with friends. The couples utilized the opportunity to test their compatibility and see if their relationships could culminate in marriage.

One such couple was Fernanda and Gerardo, who clashed on intimacy. Fernanda criticized her Love is Blind: Mexico partner for being unaffectionate towards her.

"I don't want a roommate. You don't say goodnight to your roomie and that's no big deal. But with a partner, it is. It's those little things that really matter," said Fernanda.

In Episode 6, An Explosive Return, Fernanda got into a heated argument with Gerardo. According to her, the progress of a relationship depended on physical and emotional intimacy, but Gerardo seemed to have a different perspective. He refused to cater to her needs, which led Fernanda to question her connection with him.

Love is Blind: Mexico star Gerardo thinks Fernanda has abandonment issues

Fernanda got upset when Gerardo fell asleep without saying goodnight. They had previously agreed to devote time to strengthening their physical connection. So, when she saw Gerardo's lack of interest, she said:

"I didn't feel good about how he went to bed. Not even a "good night." He just went to sleep. What's up with that? It didn't sit right with me at all."

The following morning, the Love is Blind: Mexico cast member confronted Gerardo about his demeanor. She expressed she was displeased because he just "turned over and passed out" while she tried to get close to him. It seemed like a disrespectful thing to do according to her.

In his defense, Gerardo said she focused a lot on the negatives.

"I don't know if this is normal for you to react this way. I don't know if you're seeing what you want to see. I have a totally different view," said Gerardo.

Fernanda confessed physical intimacy played a crucial role in a relationship, but Gerardo refused to accept it. While speaking to the cameras, Gerardo revealed that his falling asleep was misunderstood by Fernanda, who thought he denied pursuing a physical connection with her.

The Love is Blind: Mexico cast member criticized him for being inconsiderate towards her. She pointed out that he did not bother to ask what she wanted to eat at the barbecue party. She confessed she felt upset when he did not include her in his daily activities.

"My perspective is that Fernanda has a lot of trauma in the area of abandonment. I don't know where it comes from. She felt abandoned in this instance, right? So that exacerbated everything," said Gerardo.

The Love is Blind: Mexico star defended himself by stating that he always considered her preferences before his own. He claimed he did not watch TV despite enjoying it solely because Fernanda was not a fan.

His comments angered her and she left with her dog to go on a walk.

"I'm not feeling supported and I don't feel loved. So this is me leaving," said Fernanda.

Later in the episode, Gerardo apologized to her for making her feel unwanted. The couple embraced and reconciled.

Love is Blind: Mexico is currently streaming only on Netflix.
