Season 26 of Big Brother released its latest episode on Thursday, September 26, 2024. The segment saw the houseguests bidding farewell to Angela Murray and her ally Leah Peters. A double eviction night, which resulted in the back-to-back exits of two contestants, altered the dynamics inside the house.
With Angela and Leah's eliminations, Cam, Chelsie, Makensy, Kimo, and Rubina became the final five of season 26. Having entered the last stages of the competition, each aimed to put their best foot forward, prioritizing individual gameplay over maintaining alliances. With $750,000 at stake, the houseguests knew they had to approach the game more intently.
One such contestant with a winner's mindset was Angela. However, due to her elimination, her journey was cut short. While speaking with host Julie Chen Moonves, the Big Brother evictee confessed she had it all to win the show.
"They made the right choice. I would have won this show! I would have freaking won this show!" Angela said.
She continued to speak about her time on the show and how it helped her recognize her true self. Angela beamed with pride for making it so far despite being the most targeted player of the season. She stated that she was a threat to the others because they ousted her so close to the finish line.
"I'm not a crybaby" — Big Brother star Angela claims the house overwhelmed her
When Chelsie won the Head of Household (HoH) competition after Leah's elimination, she knew it was the perfect opportunity to backdoor Angela. Angela had been one of Chelsie's targets for a while. With the HoH power, Chelsie persuaded the remaining contestants to vote against her. Consequently, Kimo, Makensy, and Cam obliged, eliminating Angela.
When Julie announced Angela's name, the Big Brother cast member tearfully said:
"I'm very proud of myself."
She felt even prouder of herself upon realizing that a "50-freaking-five-year-old woman" was a threat to the other houseguests. Before leaving the house, she revealed how fond she was of Kimo and that she would have taken him to the finale if she could.
As soon as Angela stepped onto the stage, she embraced Julie warmly. Hearing the live audience cheer and applaud, Angela turned towards them and thanked them with teary eyes. Unable to restrain her emotions, the cast member took her seat.
During her time on the show, Angela faced eviction six times and managed to survive each. However, the seventh eviction proved to be overwhelming for her. Consequently, Julie asked her take on what went wrong. Angela revealed they made the right choice by evicting her because if she stayed, she would have won the show.
"I'm a threat, Julie!" Angela said.
When Julie asked the Big Brother evictee if she could have defeated her opponents later in the show, Angela confidently answered, "Yes! A 100%" She added that if given the opportunity, she would have let Kimo tag along to the finish line. She admitted he was her "boy," and that she "would have been okay" if Kimo won instead of her.
"You know what, I would have been okay either way, Kimo or myself," Angela said.
Later, Angela opened up about how the journey on Big Brother helped her recognize herself. She wanted to know who she was besides being a mother, a daughter, a wife, a friend, and a daughter-in-law. After participating in the show, she discovered she was a strong and resilient fighter. She hoped to maintain that temperament for the rest of her life.
Lastly, when Julie asked Angela if she was "always emotional," she said:
"No! I'm not a crybaby I promise. This house just does something to you."
The Big Brother star was happy to have found "friends and family" and "daughters and sons" inside the house.
Big Brother season 26 airs every Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday, only on CBS.
