Selling Sunset Season 8 premiered on Netflix on Friday, September 6, 2024. Surrounded by controversies and drama, the latest season managed to stay in the limelight long after its release. The agents at The Oppenheim Group brokerage found themselves at odds with each other as rumors and private matters surfaced in the show.

It was a difficult season for Chelsea Lazkani who discovered her then-husband, Jeff Lazkani, was allegedly cheating on her with another woman. Chelsea was also challenged professionally as Mary Bonnet criticized her ethics for wearing an "inappropriate" outfit to work.

In an interview with Us Weekly, posted on YouTube on September 15, 2024, Mary revisited her feud with Chelsea regarding the latter's outfit.

"I just thought it was inappropriate at work. I think she's a beautiful woman and she can wear anything she wants when she's out. Just that when you're representing your client and the brokerage it's a reflection on everybody," Mary said.

The Selling Sunset cast member revealed multiple guests were uncomfortable with Chelsea's get-up. However, that segment was not aired. Mary also spoke on Chelsea's fallout with Bre and Amanda, drawing attention to how she felt watching Chelsea's marriage crumble so publicly.

Recalling her relationship with Chelsea, Mary confessed she always "liked her as a person," despite not being "super close." Their first fallout in the season was about a social media comment, where Mary called Chelsea the biggest "pot-stirrer."

The gap between the two widened when Chelsea and Mary got into another argument about the former's outfit in Episode 2. Chelsea wore a suit and a skort to an open house event for brokers, which irked Mary. Mary complained about the Selling Sunset cast member to the Oppenheim brothers, drawing their attention to her inappropriately short outfit.

She even questioned Chelsea's professionalism, compelling Jason and Brett to ask her to tone down her outfit. Recalling the argument, Mary said:

"The outfit situation was very unfortunate. I mean, people can decide whatever they want, if I was in the right or not, like, not agreeing with that choice of wardrobe."

In the Selling Sunset episode, Chelsea criticized Mary for complaining to their bosses before coming to her with her concern. She admitted she would have honored her request had she approached her first. However, in the interview, Mary confessed she did not think it would have helped.

She added there was a "time and place" for everything and that she did not feel Chelsea's choice was the most appropriate for the event. The Selling Sunset star revealed that although it was not aired, "people were coming up saying stuff" to her.

As a result, she thought it was necessary to bring the issue to Jason and Brett's attention.

"I just thought I needed to talk to Jason because he's in charge. I'm not the manager anymore. It's not for me to say something but I wanted to relay what everybody was coming to me about since I was the co-listing agent," Mary explained.

While discussing Chelsea's marriage, Mary noted she "tried to stay out of her business." She said she did not want to push her, and hoped she gradually recovered. She revealed she sent her text messages, offering to help if anything was needed but did not receive a response from her.

Selling Sunset Season 8 is available to stream only on Netflix.
