Love is Blind: Mexico released Episodes 5-8 on Netflix on Thursday, August 8, 2024. The final five couples left their romantic retreat at Tulum and arrived in Mexico City to experience life as engaged couples. They encountered each other's lifestyles and contemplated if they were compatible.

The couples were excited to meet each other's families and hoped to earn their approval. However, Saul and Leti severed ties in Episode 5 owing to their differences. As one couple left the show, another made a shocking return. In the same episode, Irais and Rene surprised the cast members by reuniting as a couple.

"Irais sent me a message. I don't know how she found me. I thought she didn't want to talk to me anymore, but after seeing her message that said she wanted to meet up, well, I got excited about seeing her again," said Rene.

The Love is Blind: Mexico couple got engaged in Episode 3. However, when Irais saw him for the first time during the engagement ceremony, she was unimpressed by his appearance. She claimed he looked like a "bad boy," someone she would not want to be related to. Saying that, the duo left the experiment without a match.

Love is Blind: Mexico Episode 5: Irais never took off her engagement ring

Irais' Love is Blind: Mexico journey started with Fernando. She admitted he was her strongest match. However, once Fernando coupled with Karen, Irais asked him if she should pursue Rene instead. Only after Fernando reassured her of Rene's sincerity, did she interact with him romantically.

Despite Rene and Irais' budding romance, Irais hesitated to let him in completely. She feared his drinking habits might be detrimental to their relationship. It reminded her of her past connections that left her scarred. To ease her worries, Rene reassured her that he would not hurt her in any way, be it emotionally or physically.

Irais accepted his proposal and looked forward to their engagement ceremony. Upon seeing him for the first time, she knew the relationship would not last. She claimed the Love is Blind: Mexico cast member felt like "a stranger," and gave off the "party stereotype." Despite getting engaged, the couple parted ways due to their differences.

In Episode 5, Irais and Rene met. Irais revealed she wanted to see him again to understand how she felt about him.

"I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to see him again, or for him to see me again, in case I felt differently," said Irais.

The Love is Blind: Mexico cast member stated that Irais reached out to him and he did not want to miss out on seeing her. He told her that her reaction at the engagement ceremony hurt him. It bothered him how tense and nervous she was around him.

As a result, after they left the experiment, Rene was certain Irais would never meet him again. Irais confessed she was "very nervous" at that moment, and did not know how to react appropriately.

"For me, at that point, there was already too many emotions, too many feelings, too many things in my head, and I feel like I wasn't able to give you everything I wanted to in that moment," said Irais.

While speaking to the cameras, Irais mentioned she knew she wanted to be with him. She believed in their relationship and knew what they "felt in the experiment" was real. She only needed a meeting to confirm her intuition.

Rene was pleased to see Irais still wearing the engagement ring.

"Look, the thing is, I'm engaged. My husband is a doctor, I don't know if you knew," said Irais.

The Love is Blind: Mexico cast member asked Rene if he wanted to continue being with her, to which he replied, "Of course, I do." The couple embraced each other and kissed. She was in awe of Rene's personality and thought he looked "handsome."

Rene thanked Irais for being willing to talk things out. The duo looked forward to meeting each other's families and developing their relationship.
