Sister Wives season 19, episode 2, premiered on September 22, 2024. This season focuses on Kody Brown and his wife after going through three divorces. While he is still married to Robyn, he is no longer in a relationship with Meri, Janelle, and Christine.
Christine was the first to leave Kody, breaking off their spiritual marriage in 2021. Meri and Janelle followed the trend and decided to separate themselves from Kody. The latest episode showcased a conversation between Christine and Janelle, in which the latter discussed her intentions regarding her share of the Coyote Pass property.
Christine asked about her current relationship status with Kody to better understand Janelle's situation.
“Is your marriage with Kody over?,” Christine asked Janelle.
Kyote Pass's conversation shifted, and Janelle detailed her status with Kody and how they currently communicate. Titled Let There Be Light, the synopsis for episode 2 reads:
"Janelle considers leaving Flagstaff for good as she and Maddie look at land in Montana; Kody learns that Meri is asking their church for a release, their religion's word for a divorce; Christine and Aspyn throw Ysabel a welcome home party".
Sister Wives star Christine and Janelle discuss taking legal action
In 2018, Kody Brown purchased the Coyote Pass property in Flagstaff, Arizona, and offered each of his Sister Wives a share. He hoped to build a big family home where all his wives and children lived together. However, those plans came to a halt when Meri, Janelle, and Christine left him. They no longer were a big family on Sister Wives, and Kody's dream of having his family together failed.
After breaking their spiritual marriage, Christine sold off her share of the Coyote Pass to distance herself from Kody. However, Meri and Janelle still had their share and dangled over the diction if they wanted to sell their share.
Janelle went over to Christine and discussed her side of the situation and what she wanted to achieve. Sister Wives' star told Christine that she had asked Kody multiple times about selling off her share of the property. In her confessional, Janelle shared that she wished to live on a farm; however, Kody was against the idea.
"I've always wanted my own piece of land... that I could have a garden, maybe a few animals and just kind of live simply. And Cody hates everything about living on a farm and living on a ranch, and he always wanted to be seen as the city guy with the fancy car and the great job, and like that was always what he wanted," Janelle said in her confessional.
Janelle told Christine that she and Maddie had gone to look at land in Montana and realized that she could fulfill her farm dreams in a different place. However, Janelle shared that Kody was not ready to talk to her about selling off her share of the property.
Janelle added that she might need to layer up because she felt this could only be an option if she had to come to a decision. She, however, was not legally married to Kody, so she couldn't claim her share through legal proceedings. Christine asked her if her marriage with Kody was over and if he knew about it.
Janelle shared that she felt their marriage was over because Kody often avoided her and did not talk to her. The former Sister Wives couple doesn't even talk over the phone and handles their business via text.
Christine suggested Janelle have a conversation with Kody and end things with him once and for all. Janelle replied that Kody comes up with an excuse whenever she asks to talk to him.
I've been trying to talk to him about the land and he keeps putting me off... like... 'Can't talk for this reason' and then that reason passes and then he can't talk for another reason," Janelle said.
Sister Wives season 19 episodes air weekly on TLC.
