In the reality TV series 90 Day Fiancé, Michael Ilesanmi and Angela Deem are among the couples who met online and are navigating the difficulties of getting married in the US. The show documents their journey from their first meeting to the K-1 visa application process.
After a string of incidents that transpired over the previous few months, his current whereabouts were made public. Michael Ilesanmi continued to live in the United States as of August 2024.
Following his abrupt exit from the residence of his divorcée, Angela Deem, in February 2024, Michael has been residing with friends in an unidentified region of the nation.
90 Day Fiancé Michael Ilesanmi's disappearance and current status
Michael Ilesanmi's estranged wife, Angela Deem, reported him missing in February 2024, claiming he had left their Hazlehurst, Georgia, house for an unexplained reason. Concerns increased when Angela posted on TikTok on February 26, 2024, that Michael had departed without a change of clothes, identity, or personal belongings.
She called the police and promised a reward for information that would help get him back. According to authorities who later verified his safety, Michael fled out of concern for his safety.
On February 26, 2024, Michael Ilesanmi was apprehended by the authorities, who verified that his reason for running away was fear for his life. Michael revealed in a self-produced video that he left Angela's house due to her "attitude" and his mounting worries for his safety after returning from the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After Tell-All No Limits filming in New York City.
Legal battles and public statements
Angela Deem filed for an annulment of their marriage on June 20, 2024. She accused Michael of fraudulently inducing her into marriage to gain permanent residency in the U.S.
In her annulment petition, Angela claimed that Michael had conspired with other Nigerian men to deceive American women for immigration purposes.
Angela’s petition also noted that Michael’s last known address was her home in Hazlehurst, Georgia, but stated that he was no longer residing there. In response to Angela’s accusations, Michael launched a GoFundMe campaign on June 30, 2024, to cover his legal expenses. He successfully raised over $25,000 and has since denied the fraud claims made by Angela.
Michael Ilesanmi stated on August 21, 2024, that Angela’s allegations were false and accused her of “cruel treatment” and “physical and mental abuse” during their marriage. He also requested a fair division of assets and temporary and permanent spousal support.
Michael's public appearances and future plans
After leaving Angela's house, Michael has been seen in various locations across the U.S. In addition to attending a birthday celebration in Indianapolis, where he was reportedly spotted dancing with an unidentified woman, he was first spotted in Indiana in May 2024.
Later, in July 2024, Michael Ilesanmi was spotted in Texas. He was captured on camera in an Alvin Kroger grocery store and a Houston pool hall there. Along with cooking traditional Nigerian food with food blogger Ify Mogekwu for an Instagram video, he has publicly appeared with Nigerian singer-songwriter Davido.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight on August 20, 2024, Michael expressed:
“I want to take advantage of the opportunities available to me here and enjoy positive experiences. I’m determined to succeed and explore potential TV show offers. I’m optimistic about my future and want to establish myself independently of Angela.”
