Week 4 of Big Brother season 26 commenced with episode 12, which released on Sunday, August 11. Angela won the HoH competition again, becoming the first contestant to get the prestigious position twice. Her win safeguarded her place in the house for the week but didn't give her the power to nominate.
This was because Quinn, as promised, used his deepfake HoH power to take over the nominations. He put Cedric, Makensy, and Tucker up for eviction. But the way it was announced is something the fans have been raving about on the internet.
A deepfake hologram of Angela appeared on one of the screens in the Big Brother house. Ainsley, the AI narrator, announced that it was an AI version of Angela, so it was implied that it would speak for Quinn.
Fans of Big Brother took to X to express their disappointment in how it was handled. They thought if no one knew who the deepfake was, it would've been far more exciting to see a hologram of the real HoH speaking for an anonymous deepfake.
"Wow this Deepfake isn’t as exciting to watch since everyone knows Quinn is behind it," one fan said.
"This coulda been way more intriguing if e v e r y b o d y didn’t know about the deep fake," another fan said.
"Oh why would they tell them it was the deepfake? Like if the whole house didn’t know wouldn’t this tell them Angela didn’t do it like it defeats the purpose of rumors," a comment read.
"This deep fake hoh would have been SO cool if no one knew anything about it!!! alas," another read.
Some Big Brother fans called out Ainsley for announcing it was the deepfake Angela speaking. They thought announcing it took away from the whole experience because houseguests and fans already knew it was Quinn.
"Why in the hell would Ainsley appear and reveal this a deep fake???" one X user commented.
"Here I was thinking they were going to actually try to be a genuine Deep Fake and fool the HGs but even Ainsley called it the "Deep Fake" power - so disappointed...." commented another user.
"This deepfake hoh would have been really cool if power was kept a secret. It’s such a waste knowing Quinn," one Tweet said.
"Imagine the excitement if it was truly secretive to the houseguests. Deep Fake HOH," said another Tweet.
Why did Quinn nominate Tucker, Makensy, and Cedric for eviction on Big Brother season 26?
Quinn, the deepfake HoH first had a conversation with the real HoH, Angela, to gauge who she would nominate, to see if he could save his power for later if her prospects matched his. But when Angela didn't reveal anything, he gave in.
As promised, Quinn first went for Tucker because he was the one to get him nominated the last week. After finding out Quinn had the deepfake HoH power, he announced it to the entire house and even saved Angela with his Power of Veto, so he could eliminate Quinn.
He went for Makensy because she had been on the eviction radar since last week for being a strong defender. She saved herself using America's Veto the last week but was still a looming threat to the houseguests.
Cedric was nominated because he volunteered for it. He did so because he considered himself strong enough to compete against Makensy and Tucker in PoV and AI Arena competitions.
New episodes of Big Brother season 26 drop on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 pm ET, and on Sundays at 9 pm ET, on CBS.
