Below Deck Down Under season 3 is on its way as the filming has already wrapped up. Captain Jason Chambers exclusively shared the news in his recent interview and explained what changes were made this season. In a conversation with US Weekly on September 13, 2024, the Below Deck Down Under cast member said:

“Season 3 has been filmed. I just know it’s in edits at the moment, but it has been filmed and I can confirm that. The most information out so far is that it has been confirmed.”

He reflected on the season 2 incident as well and how the production intervened to make the crew more comfortable in their workplace.

Jason reflected on the reality TV show structure as well as the yachting industry evolving, as time passes, which is a good thing in his eyes. He talked about certain actions that should be considered unacceptable in society and how new "policies and procedures" can be implemented to prevent them from happening.

Referring to the season 2 incident, he also mentioned the "involved" people learning from their mistakes.

Captain Jason Chambers reveals the changes made in the upcoming Below Deck Down Under season

For the uninitiated, the 2023 Below Deck Down Under season 2 incident involved Luke Jones, who joined Margot Sisson in her bed.

At that time, Margot had no clothes on and was passed out as she was under the influence. Upon seeing this, the camera crew and show producers intervened and asked Luke to leave immediately.

Later in the episodes, as per Jason's decision, Luke was no longer part of the crew. Laura Bileskaline was also sent home after she put the blame on Margot for Luke leaving.

Since then, according to Jason, the guidelines and rules have not just been overlooked by the production but the new "additional HR people" as well. He said:

“Now for the next season, the policies and procedures weren’t just controlled by the production team itself. They actually brought additional HR people to actually make sure that the black and white writing was understood by all.”

The Below Deck Down Under captain clarified that the rules were still there even before the incident which is the reason why the off-camera intervened. However, now they were stricter.

NBC revealed their anti-discrimination and harassment policies back in September 2023 to avoid something like this happening again.

Captain Jason shared he was still in contact with the season 2 crew and was glad that everyone involved in the incident had "some learning to do" and has now "become a better person." The Below Deck Down Under captain continued:

“The one thing I want that sticks in my mind is that I supported everyone afterward. Everyone involved with it had some learning to do. I’ve stayed in touch with every person that’s been involved and they’ve become a better person and that’s great. We have to give everyone the right to learn from their mistakes.”

Previous seasons of Below Deck Down Under are available to stream exclusively on Bravo TV. Fans can follow Captain Jason on his Instagram account to stay updated with news related to the new season and to get a glimpse into his professional life off-camera.
