Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 premiered on Monday, October 7, 2024. Captain Glenn Shephard and the Parsifal III crew set sail for Ibiza in the latest season. They prepared to welcome their first charter guest and their extended party on board. It was none other than Dr. Contessa Metcalfe from Married to Medicine.
While everything seemed to be in order, there was one mishap that the Bravo show did not air. In an interview with The Daily Dish, published on October 7, 2024, Dr. Contessa revealed she had a "bit of a situation" on board.
"My luggage did not come...It was horrible, [but] everybody was so sweet," Dr. Contessa said.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht's first charter guest added that despite losing her luggage, she did not feel uncomfortable. She said that it was because the Parsifal III crew did everything they could to provide her with what she needed.
"Everybody was so nice" — Dr. Contessa praised the crew of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5
While detailing the mishap, the Married to Medicine star revealed that her luggage failed to reach the layover. As a result, she had to borrow clothes and shop at some "cutesy little" local stores near the pier before stepping on board.
Once the Below Deck Sailing Yacht cast members heard of Dr. Contessa's dilemma, they reached out to her and helped her in every way possible. Their gesture impressed the doctor, who could not stop complimenting their hospitality.
"Everybody was so nice. They even offered to go out in town and go shopping for me. I just have to just sing the praises of everybody," she said.
Daisy went out of her way to make the Below Deck Sailing Yacht guest feel comfortable. She loaned her own skirt to the doctor, earning praise for her generosity. Contessa admitted that the Chief Stew was "great" and her conduct with the others was "amazing."
Due to the combined efforts of the entire crew, Dr. Contessa and her group could enjoy their time on board. Looking back at the experience, the Married to Medicine star confessed that she and her friends "had so much fun" they "didn't want to get off the ship." The "awesome" service provided to her and her party throughout their stay on the show impressed her.
The Below Deck Sailing Yacht guest also spoke about how excited she was to go on a trip with her close ones.
"We love to travel in style, so this was absolutely amazing. I've always wanted to go to Ibiza, and I had this belief in my heart that I was kind of approaching the age of being too old to go, so it was nice to kind of be able to do it in an elegant fashion, so to speak," Dr. Contessa said
The doctor continued that since she and her friends lived such "buttoned-up" lives, a vacation to "the biggest party place in the world" was something they looked forward to. She mentioned that Ibiza was a place she always wanted to visit but somehow missed the opportunities.
So when she was invited as a charter guest on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, she knew it was the perfect opportunity for her to fulfill her wish.
"And then to be able to do it on a yacht - a huge sailboat - that's just icing on the cake," she concluded.
Dr. Contessa applauded the crew's service, saying it was "an exquisite experience" to be catered to "every moment of every day." She claimed her time on the yacht "was just luxury, from the beginning to the end."
New episodes of Below Deck Sailing Yacht air every Monday at 9 pm ET only on Bravo.
