"It hurts so bad" — Love is Blind star Marissa breaks down after Ramses calls off their wedding

The much-awaited finale of Love is Blind season 7 was released on Netflix on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. The segment saw the three remaining couples — Ramses and Marissa, Garrett and Taylor, and Tyler and Ashley — face major decisions as they prepared to walk down the aisle. However, one couple failed to overcome their doubts, ending their relationship before the wedding.

Ramses called off his wedding with Marissa in episode 12 of Love is Blind, titled Leap of Faith. He explained that he could not marry her because he was scared their marriage wouldn't unfold as planned. He revealed that he started doubting his decision after learning that his ex-wife suffered more from their divorce than he realized. Ramses worried that he would end up hurting Marissa if he decided emotionally.

While Marissa tried to persuade Ramses' decision, he revealed that her energy was "too much" for him. Consequently, he broke up with her, leaving the female cast member in shambles.

"This is like the worst heartbreak I've ever experienced. It hurts so bad," Marissa said.

Marissa was certain that Ramses was making a mistake by letting her go. However, he was adamant about calling it quits, citing his inability to have faith in their relationship as one of the reasons that influenced his decision.

The finale of Love is Blind got off to a rough start as Ramses and Marissa discussed the future of their relationship. While Marissa was confident about their future as husband and wife, Ramses was apprehensive.

He told Marissa that after having a phone call with his niece's mother LaDallas and his brother, he learned that his ex-wife "was hurting much more" from the divorce than he realized.

The Love is Blind star added that he was scared something similar would happen and that he would end up hurting Marissa. He felt that love alone isn't enough to sustain a relationship. Ramses claimed that there were "certain things" he couldn't get around despite having an "incredible bond" with her.

"That's a thing that could, like, potentially, if it's not working well, it can, like, potentially grind us down over time," he said.

Marissa attempted to calm an uneasy Ramses by saying, "There is more than love here." She reassured him she loved him enough to understand that he needed space and time to process his feelings. Marissa promised to help Ramses deal with his emotions and meet his expectations because to her marriage was "a promise and a commitment."

She believed that they complemented each other, but Ramses was unconvinced. He revealed that he tended to think emotionally, which caused him to make "wrong decisions in the past." As a result, he wanted to think logically and avoid repeating the same mistakes.

When Marissa asked the Love is Blind cast member to elaborate on what bothered him, he said:

"It's about your energy and my energy, living and coexisting in the same space is what it is ... Is your energy gonna be too much for me or is it gonna, like, make me feel, you know, like overwhelmed? Is it gonna be, like, too much for me?"

Marissa was heartbroken to hear Ramses say that because it made her feel that there was a fault in her. She was disappointed in him for being unable to see past her energy. Marissa confessed that it was a minor issue that she could easily work on, but Ramses was adamant that she couldn't predict the future, as she hasn't lived it.

Marissa broke down after failing to convince Ramses to change his decision to call off their wedding. She said that it was "literally insane," how fast he became unsure of their relationship. The Love is Blind star left her ring with Ramses and stepped out of the room.

"I just feel like ... I feel like dying inside. Like, I'm just ... I don't know. I just ... I don't know. I don't know. I don't know," Marissa said.

Marissa confessed that it was "crazy" that her relationship was over after they had chosen their dance song two days ago. She called her mother to convey the news and burst out crying, unable to restrain her feelings.
