Nick Dorka, a contestant from Love is Blind season 7, recently opened up about his decision to avoid discussing his intimate relationship with fiancée Hannah Jiles on camera. In an interview with E! News on October 06, 2024, he shared that the idea of talking about their private moments made him uncomfortable.
Nick explained that he had never been used to chatting about such topics, even with close friends or family. Nick further mentioned:
"It's not that, it was a little uncomfortable for me."
For the unversed, Love is Blind season 7 saw single contestants build connections without ever seeing each other. Nick and Hannah were among the seven couples who got engaged.
However, once they left the pods and entered the real world, Nick expressed his discomfort with delving into their physical relationship. He shared that he had told Hannah that he didn’t want to discuss all the “crazy s--t” that happened between them in the bedroom.
"Once I kind of took that wall down and just accepted it" — Nick's concerns about discussing intimacy on Love is Blind
In the interview, Nick first mentioned that part of his hesitation stemmed from protecting his public image as he said he had a "brand at home" to protect. But he clarified that it was because he "never really talked about those things."
Despite his reservations, Nick eventually changed his mindset and explained:
“Once I kind of took that wall down and just accepted it, you know, it was easy to talk about."
Nick admitted that his initial reluctance was due to his lack of experience in discussing intimate matters but once he embraced the process of the experiment, he became more comfortable opening up. He added:
“Now I’ve learned, ‘Hey, it’s okay to talk about those things,’ to be okay, to be vulnerable."
Hannah, who was also initially hesitant, supported Nick in his decision as he revealed:
“Hannah was kind of on the same page as me for a little bit, she was kind of nervous talking about it."
However, the couple eventually had a conversation and decided to fully embrace the experiment. Nick shared that they reached a mutual understanding about the same and said, "Let’s give it our all.”
Nick and Hannah's journey on Love Is Blind
Nick and Hannah’s relationship had its own challenges, but the couple worked hard to overcome them. In the pods, they quickly developed a strong bond, with Hannah captivated by Nick’s charm.
Despite Hannah’s initial reservations, including concerns about Nick’s commitment, the couple decided to move forward together and got engaged. After meeting in person and heading off to Mexico for a romantic getaway, they encountered hurdles such as disagreements about lifestyle and intimacy.
One notable incident during their trip involved a flirtatious encounter that Nick had with another woman, which raised concerns for Hannah.
Their connection was also strained by diference in their living situations and levels of maturity. Hannah voiced concerns about Nick’s capacity to manage basic tasks, noting that he was still on his parent’s phone plan and didn’t know how to make pasta.
The couple overcame these obstacles to resolve their issues on Love Is Blind. Nick promised to be less self-centered, while Hannah committed to improving her communication, especially when she was angry. By the time their journey was over, they had returned to solid ground and were prepared to plan further together.
Episodes 1-6 of Love Is Blind season 7 are already streaming on Netflix, with episodes 7-9 set to be released on Wednesday, October 9.
