"It was quite intense"— Love is Blind UK star Tom tells Maria about his conversation with Natasha

Netflix aired Love is Blind UK episodes 5 to 9 on August 14, 2024, a week after the show's premiere day. Couples who got engaged after several blind dates through separate pods advanced to the next phase of the reality show. After they started to cohabit for a few days at a retreat, they returned to the UK and then met each other’s family members.

Love is Blind UK episode 8 featured one of the engaged couples, Tom and Maria, discussing how Tom chatted with his former connection Natasha, a.k.a. Tash, a night before. During the same episode, everyone from the pods, all singles and engaged couples, met each other for the first time.

When Maria asked Tom how his chat with Natasha had gone, Tom replied that it was intense.

"That conversation was a lot more intense than, like, I’d anticipated," shared Tom.

Love is Blind UK episode 8: What did Tom and Natasha discuss during the get-together?

The eighth episode of Love is Blind UK featured all the participants of the social experiment meeting outside the pods, including singles and engaged participants. They all met and got to see each other; some were meeting each other for the first time.

The episode also saw Tom, 38, a PR and advertising consultant, and Natasha, 32, a careers coordinator, meet for the first time. The two participants had previously connected while they were on blind dates.

Later, Tom decided to pursue his connection with Maria, a 30-year-old makeup artist, and they got engaged on the show.

After seeing Natasha face-to-face for the first time on Love is Blind UK episode 8, Tom was surprised. He shared in the confessional:

"It’s been, like, a massive shock seeing Tash. She’s a little bit more glamorous than what I thought she was gonna look like."

Upon meeting Natasha for the first time, Tom asked her how she was, and she replied that she was good. She added that she didn’t know "where to put" herself at the get-together. Tom told Natasha that she was fine and she was doing alright.

He also admitted that he didn’t know where to put himself. He then asked her whether he looked similar to what she thought he would look like. She laughed and said no.

"You’re a lot more put together than I expected," shared Natasha.

Tom smiled and said he would take that as a compliment. Natasha also asked him the same question: Was she what Tom expected?

"I think so. I just knew that you were gonna be, like…," replied Tom.

Natasha was retouching her lipstick, which interrupted Tom. She apologized, told him she would never normally do that, and asked him to continue.

"You are similar to what I thought you were gonna look like, to be honest. Just ‘cause you’re a bit of a geek. I thought you might look a little bit more geeky, you know?" Tom shared.

When Natasha looked at Tom, he clarified that he didn’t mean that as an insult but rather a compliment. Tom then shared how things were between him and his fiance, Maria.

He told Natasha things had been well, but they’d had a few disagreements. Their conversation continued when Natash told him she only cared for and respected him.

The following day, on Love is Blind UK, when Tom and Maria were having coffee, she asked him about the conversation and how he felt about Natasha being there.

Tom said it was fine and that the conversation was "a lot more intense" than he had anticipated. When Maria asked why, Tom said it was "super emotional" for Natasha and had a "really deep" connection.
