"It's a bombshell" — Love Is Blind: Brazil star Evandro opens up about having another son

Love is Blind: Brazil season 4 was premiered on June 19, 2024. While on June 26, the popular dating show dropped new episodes (5-8) that tracked the couples' journey outside the pods and into the real world where they interacted with family members and tackled everyday challenges.

One of the couples, Evandro Pinto and Ariela Carasso experienced a tense situation when the former revealed he had another son apart from his two daughters. Evandro said:

"I have to share this with you. And I have no idea how you're going to react. It's a bombshell."

Meanwhile, Ariela was completely taken aback since she was in the dark about the information. Although she appeared to internalize the truth, she became suspicious about Evandro's honesty. Previously, Ariela had been suspicious of Evandro for allegedly being in a relationship, after looking at some of his texts.

In episode 7, No Bed of Roses, Evandro brings Ariela to meet his mother and other family members. During Ariela's conversation with Evandro's mother, a few things cropped up that made both of them uncomfortable.

From hiding his smoking relapse to the confusion about his profession as a trader, Evandro's mother knew her son had not been honest with his Love Is Blind: Brazil partner.

In a private conversation, Evandro's mother asked him if he told Ariela about his son from his past relationship. When Evandro said he had not, she urged him to reveal the truth as soon as possible. In his confessional, Evandro mentioned it was a sensitive topic and felt anxious about Ariela's reaction. Evandro said:

"When it's right, I will tell her about it. I hope she'll react the same way I would. She has to understand love is bigger than both of us."

The following morning Evandro decided to let Ariela in on the truth. He revealed he had another son from his past relationship. Although he was not there when the child was born, he did meet him once later on. He further stated that the mother and the child drifted apart eventually and he "let them go" after getting some 'bad advice.'

Ariela was shocked to hear that Evandro decided to get in touch with his son only last year after he was 12 years old. Ariela said:

"I would never let 12 years go by without doing something. In fact, I wouldn't let even one day go by. If he had taken action right after his son was born, then he probably could have developed some kind of a relationship with him by now."

Although Ariela did not react explosively, she confessed that it was all too much for her. Later in the episode, all the couples gathered to enjoy a day by the pool. Ariela told Vanessa she did not appreciate how Evandro kept something so significant hidden from her.

At the same time, Evandro was happy that he waited for the right moment. However, with the revelation, further doubt, and suspicion crept into the relationship of the Love Is Blind: Brazil couple.

The couple got into another argument when Ariela asked Evandro to repeat what he said about co-star Alexandre's intentions coming on to the show. Ariela, dissatisfied with her partner's answer, accused him of lying.

Frustrated by Ariela's demeanor, and feeling disrespected, Evandro exited the show, leaving nothing but a goodbye note for Ariela.
