Jay Taj opens up about his collaboration on Rhythm + Flow season 2 episode 8
Jay Taj collaborated with Lucky Daye on Rhythm + Flow season 2 episode 8 and expressed excitement and nervousness during his confessional interview. He talked about the pressure of doing good on a song that was already famous with a well-renowned artist. In a conversation with Lucky Daye, Jay Tay received important advice about painting a strong stage presence and hooking the audience with his energy.
Lucky Daye praised Jay's lyrics but emphasized that getting "people's attention" during the feature was mandatory. He continued:
"The way you wrote it is a performance price in and of itself. But you know, how do you get on the stage next to an artist that's already gonna get people's attention."
The Rhythm + Flow cast member told the cameras he didn't want his performance to feel like a "remix" or a "TikTok freestyle." Instead, he wanted to introduce himself as an artist and wanted to live up to the mark of the judges' expectations. Jay further stated:
"I'm trying to make sure that when I come in, it doesn't feel like a remix. It doesn't feel like some TikTok freestyle. To be given the expectation to be able to deliver up against such a strong record, I wanna make sure that he feels like I'm doing the record justice."
Jay's performance was applauded by the judges and the audience as he received positive remarks on his stage presence.
