Netflix released the Outlast season 2 finale episodes on September 11, 2024. Survival show's seventh episode, Meeting the Enemy, featured some of the game-changing events. One of them was Bravo teammate Sammy's departure. Following his exit, a Delta teammate, Joey, wanted to switch teams before the finale.

Outlast season 2 episode 7 started with three members on the Bravo team, and five members (Eric Shevchenko, Joseph Malbrough, Joey DiDesidero, Tina Grimm, and Brendon Ash) still left on the Delta team. Bravo had Drew Haas, Drake Vliem, and Sammy Norris.

Seeing Sammy in poor condition, Bravo teammates Drew and Drake were worried. They considered whether Sammy should self-eliminate and, if he wasn't ready, voted to eliminate him so he could go home and recover.

"And knowing we have a definite end, even though we don't know what the challenge is gonna be, it's gonna be hard, and I know for a fact Sammy doesn't have much left in the tank. Of course, it's a hard decision. Um, it's an extremely hard decision, but I don't think Drake and I can have someone on the team that can't keep up with us," Drew confessed.

Why did Sammy Norris leave Outlast season 2? Details explored

Outlast season 2 episode 7 featured helicopters dropping packages to Delta and Bravo camps containing letters, among other things.

The teams read it,

"Players, teams. The end is near. In 48 hours, you will embark on your journey for the million-dollar prize. Is this your final team? That's for you to decide. How strong are your bonds? This will test that strength. Who will go the distance and outlast?"

Drew and Drake at the Bravo camp seemed excited, emphasizing "48 hours," while Sammy was not present. They also discussed telling Sammy it was "time for him to go."

Drew later confessed to the camera that Sammy didn't have "much left in the tank." He added that it was a "hard decision," but they didn't have a teammate who couldn't keep up with him and Drake during the finale challenge.

They then went to their tent area and asked Sammy how he was doing.

"I’m okay," said Sammy.

Drew then shared that he and Drake were worried about him and concerned for his health. The latter said that Sammy "didn't look" good, health-wise. Drew shared that Sammy was their "brother" and that they loved him "truly."

Sammy then confessed how his teammates Drake and Drew were concerned for him.

"What if you try to chop firewood and faint and whack yourself in the (bleep) left with a hatchet? Or you fall on the hatched, and it stabs in your stomach? You need to call it Sammy." asked Drake.

However, Sammy didn't want to "rush into anything." Again, when Sammy mentioned to "keep pushing," Drew told him to go see his family and his dog. He also told Sammy to "get some food" for themselves.

"You would be doing me and Drake a huge…a huge solid, I think, man. I mean, and we would be forever grateful for that, but I just don't see you getting any better, man, " Drew said.

Later in Outlast episode 7, Sammy confessed that even though he was "mentally" there and wanted to keep going, he would "hate" to bring down his team. Sammy then told his teammates that he would go home and take care of himself despite his wishes to "keep pushing" it.

Before Sammy's departure, Drake confessed that he, along with Drew, created "a really good bond" with Sammy. He also shared that the last challenge would be a "physical" one, with "a million dollars" on the line.

"Out here in the wilderness, the strongest survive, the strongest wins," confessed Drake.

Then, all three Bravo teammates went out by the shoreline, where Sammy was ready to depart. He then took his flare gun and fired it, announcing his elimination from the Outlast season 2.

On the Delta team, some of the teammates, including Eric, Brendon, and Joseph, were out near the shoreline, where the latter mentioned,

"Man, I think somebody popped."

The next day was Day 30. The remaining teammates at the Delta camp were Eric, Joey, Brendon, Joseph, and Tina. For the Bravo camp, Drew Haas and Drake Vliem were the remaining teammates.

Netflix has already released the Outlast season 2 finale.
