Selling Sunset season 8, a Netflix original series focused on the Oppenheim group's real estate operations in Las Vegas and San Diego, aired on September 6, 2024. The show features twin brothers Jason and Brett Oppenheim, along with cast members Chrishell Stause, Mary Fitzgerald, Emma Hernan, Amanza Smith, Chelsea Lazkani, Bre Tiesi, Nicole Young, and new addition Alanna Gold.

All 11 episodes of Selling Sunset season 8 were released on the same day. The show is full of fierce competition between the realtors of O Group, professional clashes, and personal drama. In episode 2, Chelsea and Mary were co-assigned a $30 million listing, for which they organized an open house. While both managed the task, Chelsea arrived an hour late.

Mary commented on Chelsea's skirt, pointing out 'it was too short for the event' and spoke to Jason and Brett about it. Chelsea did not find it appropriate that Mary brought out the issue in front of their bosses, and she told Mary that it would have been better if she had directly come to her as a woman. She felt it was disrespectful and said:

"Doing it in front of two men, I just think it is a little bit of a low blow."

Chelsea confronts Mary in Selling Sunset episode 2 over her remarks about the former's professionalism and attire

Selling Sunset season 8 episode 2 had many interesting subplots that added to the drama of the show. Chelsea was called out by Mary for not wearing the appropriate attire for the occasion and asked her to 'tone it down.' Chelseas lashed out at Mary, as she went ahead to talk to Jason and Brett instead of coming to her directly and voicing her opinion.

Mary and Chelsea were given a $30 million listing on a posh Manhattan Beach as a co-listing in episode 2 of Selling Sunset. The two O group realtors organized an open house, but Chelsea, who was supposed to manage things with Mary, arrived an hour late. Mary was upset about managing everything alone and said during a confessional in episode 2 of Selling Sunset:

"I really don't know what to think right now. I am gonna handle everything on my own. I do it most of the time anyway."

As soon as Chelsea arrived at the Open House event, Mary and Bre started commenting on her skirt, which they did not find suitable as clients were present there. Later, Mary, Alanna, and Bre were having a conversation, where Alanna asked Mary about the dress code of the office. Mary replied that she understood what Alanna was referring to and said:

"Clothing would be good. More than just covering up the essentials."

Mary then raised the issue with Jason and Brett Oppenheim, pointing out that people had come to her and questioned Chelsea's attire. Jason told her that he was not comfortable talking about what they all should be wearing. However, they called Chelsea to have a conversation as it concerned the company as well.

Chelsea was upset about Jason asking her 'to tone down her outfit 10% for such events,' and she replied that they should not be patrolling her for what she wears. Marry told her that it concerned the company and its reputation, and therefore she brought it up. Chelsea reverted:

"Then i hope to never see your t*ts out ver again. If you wanna tal company policy, I would hope you dress very moderately."

Chelsea walked out of the scene, citing that she was there for work and did not want to talk about it further.
