Love is Blind: UK released episodes 5-9 on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. The couples flew to Corfu, Greece, and spent time getting to know their significant others. The time they invested in each other was important as it helped them analyze their compatibility outside the pods.
As they returned to the U.K., they moved into their apartments and practiced living together. They also prepared to meet each other's family and friends. Sabrina and Steven traveled to Ireland in episode 8 to meet the former's family. On their first encounter, Sabrina's mother Pauline said:
"My little girl, who I absolutely adore and want the best for her, it's all very quick. It's all a wee bit crazy, and I hope Steven doesn't let us down."
Pauline felt skeptical about Steven's intentions, wondering if his feelings for Sabrina were genuine. She hoped the Love is Blind: UK cast member loved her and cared for her throughout life. Before introducing Steven to his mother, Sabrina warned him that she was "overprotective" of her because of the trauma Sabrina suffered in her past relationship.
Despite being reassured by Steven, Pauline had her doubts. She hoped he provided her daughter with a happy life and did not disappoint either of them.
Love is Blind: UK star Sabrina admitted it was a "big deal" to introduce Steven to her family
After Sabrina and Steven arrived in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the former mentioned she usually refrained from introducing anyone to her family unless the relationship was significantly important to her.
"It's a very big deal for me. Like, I generally don't introduce my family to someone I'm dating unless I think it's going to be something," said Sabrina.
The Love is Blind: UK cast member revealed her mother and sister could "see through people" which was why their opinion mattered to her. Meanwhile, Steven wondered if they would approve of him.
Sabrina's mother, Pauline, sister, Shomisha, and friend, Clare joined the couple for the meeting. Pauline exclaimed in excitement when Sabrina showed her the engagement ring. She joked and said:
"Well Steven, I don't remember getting asked permission for that one."
Before Sabrina could tell her mother about their trip to Greece, Pauline asked Steven to introduce himself. When she heard Steven's business was based in London, she asked how they planned to tackle the distance since Sabrina was based in Belfast.
Steven stated he had "flexibility" with where he was situated. The Love is Blind: UK couple reassured Pauline they were being "realistic" about their living situation and would not rush into any decision. Despite that, Pauline worried about Sabrina's happiness.
"Sabrina did sacrifice a lot to go through the experiment. She went on this fully dedicated and wanted to meet someone. And I'd expect someone who also wants that partnership," said Pauline.
She added she "wouldn't accept anything less" than his complete dedication to Sabrina. Steven reassured Pauline that they were extremely compatible and shared the same interests. However, Shomisha felt skeptical since their relationship seemed "too perfect."
She hoped it was not "just the honeymoon period" where they connected on all levels. She wanted Sabrina to get her fairytale ending.
Pauline requested a one-on-one chat with Steven where she confessed it all seemed like a "bubble" to her. She added that she would not be happy if he hurt her daughter. To provide her with some clarity, the Love is Blind: UK cast member said:
"Love's the best feeling in the world. I do feel that, I do feel that. I just don't throw that word around. I haven't used that word in a long time."
Hearing him talk about Sabrina, Pauline admitted Steven had her blessings "so far." However, she could not confirm anything about the future. While talking to the cameras, Pauline confessed she could see their connection although it was difficult to internalize it. On the other hand, Shomisha stated that she was still "on the fence" about their relationship.
"I'm so happy for Sabrina and Steven, but I'm still very much on the fence because is this real life or is it just for TV?" said Shomisha.
Love is Blind: UK is available to stream only on Netflix.
