Love Is Blind: Mexico, a spin-off of the popular reality dating show titled Love Is Blind, continues to draw attention from viewers as it explores love in new cultures. The show is simple but intriguing: singles meet, talk, and form emotional connections with potential partners without ever seeing each other.
After several days of 'blind' interactions, they must decide whether to propose marriage without seeing their future spouse.
One of the most controversial couples from the current season of Love is Blind: Mexico is René and Irais. Their journey on the show ended when Irais initially rejected René after they met each other in person, post the proposal.

As the wedding date approaches, all of the engaged couples are meeting their families. Rene takes Irais to meet his family. Except for his mother, no one knew about the Love Is Blind: Mexico experiment.
Rene's father said:
"If I'm honest, I don't believe it. I doubt that what they feel is love, because, well, I mean they seem to think it's easy. I think they'd need more time."
His mother asks her if she is the jealous type because he spoils his sisters, and his exes have been that. When his sister enquires about having children, she responds that it's not a priority for her.
This disappoints his father, who mentions that it's their dream to have grandkids.
René mentioned that the wedding date is set for December 6 in the show Love is Blind: Mexico, and all of them react and say it's too soon. His mother questions him about the experiment, as she though it was just meeting and getting to know about the person. His sister asked him:
"Are you aware of what you are saying?"
She continued:
"You have to pass the honeymoon phase. It's been three weeks, how can you want to get married? Have you lost your mind?"
René seemed confident about his decision and told his sisters that there are certain things that Irais knows, which they don't even know. His sister said, in her opinion, it's too soon to get married, and if things don't work, she was there to be his divorce lawyer.
They ask Irais about her spending habits and how well she managed her finances. Irais responded that she is a spender but she also knew how to manage her money and has done savings and investments.
They all express their disappointment and one of the sisters says that she won't agree for this wedding to happen.
Irais listened intently, acknowledging the family's concerns and assuring them of her sincere intentions. René's mother stated that the family will support them if, in the end, this is what they want to do. In the end, René and Irais leave the family meeting with mixed emotions.
Most of the family, except his mother, were unsure if they would attend the wedding.
