"It’s been unfortunate"— Love Is Blind's Alex reacts to Tim's social media posts criticizing her

Netflix dating reality show Love Is Blind season 7 saw many singles try their luck in hopes of finding their life partner. The experiment had been polarizing for some singles, who after many trials and tribulations, were able to form a meaningful connection. With the release of two new episodes on October 16, 2024, Alex and Tim decided to break apart over varying differences in lifestyles.

When Tim's parents visited the couple just days before their planned wedding, Alex decided to take a nap which irked Tim. He claimed that this act signaled that she was not serious enough about the relationship and they both decided to never see each other again.

Tim uploaded an Instagram post on October 16, 2024, stating that he tried his "best" to keep disagreements "off-camera." Calling his experience a "negative" one, he further wrote in caption:

"I know when to remove something that is a negative presence in my life."

This prompted Alex to reply about what Tim had to say. In an interview with Vulture on October 18, 2024, she expressed her disappointment over Tim's statements. Alex explained that he was very strategic in front of the camera regarding what topic to bring up on Love Is Blind.

"It’s been unfortunate to see a lot of things Tim has been posting over the last 24 hours. But it wasn’t a mutual decision. That was his own decision. Tim was very, very strategic on what he talked about in front of the camera, and I allowed that, because if he doesn’t want to share something, he doesn’t have to," Alex stated.

Alex was thinking about food during their breakup conversation on Love Is Blind

As mentioned earlier, the Love Is Blind couple broke up after Tim sat Alex down and expressed his feelings about her sleeping during his parents' visit. During the Vulture interview, Alex was asked about what was going through her mind at the time as she was having her meal while conversing with Tim. She mentioned:

"I was so hungry. I was so hungry! And that food was so good, too."

Alex revealed that the breakup was surprising to her because she was expecting a proper chat about the events that happened last week. She soon realized that things were a little off due to the tone of Tim's voice. Usually, the Love Is Blind couple had conversations when they were in different places and as soon as her partner asked to look at him in the face, she knew the talk would not be pleasant.

Dwelling further in the scenario, Alex shared that she was with Tim's family all day and earlier had lunch together before filming the dinner scene. Just a day prior, the couple met her parents as well and she had a meeting scheduled in the evening. Calling the days "great", Alex explained meeting with both of their parents was physically and emotionally taxing which is why she took that nap.

She further revealed that Tim's parents were supposed to be visiting for a few more days. According to her, another thing that was left out from the episodes was that Tim was out when she decided to take a nap and his parents were downstairs watching TV.

"I was with them for a significant amount of time. You want to be present and engaging, so it’s a lot of energy. I told them, 'Hey, it was a pleasure meeting you. I will see you tomorrow. I do have somewhere to be, but before I go, I’m just gonna take a quick nap before I get on the road.' That was a conversation. They were not upset," Alex added.

On the show, Tim asked Alex to hand over his late sister's bracelet that he gifted as a token of love. She revealed that the act felt like a "punch to the gut". Although he asked for it on camera, the producers of Love Is Blind did not show the incident during the final edit.
