Love is Blind: Mexico premiered on Thursday, August 1, 2024. The four episodes released showed singles opening up and forming emotional bonds. Since cast members could not see the appearance of the person they interacted with, they resorted to deep and meaningful conversations to understand the person's mentality.
35-year-old Saul Reyes entered the experiment looking for a committed relationship. He wanted someone who would prioritize him, as well as his daughter. When he talked to 35-year-old Leti Floresmeyer, he knew she could be the one for him. In episode 2, he revealed what he thought of physical intimacy.
"To indulge and enjoy. It's a way of enjoying that love," said Saul.
The Love is Blind: Mexico star was strongly committed to his beliefs. As a result, he was caught off-guard when Leti presented a different perspective. He thought physical intimacy played a key role in the progress of a relationship, which is why he did not struggle to be open about it. Instead, he expected his partner to engage in it as well.
Love is Blind: Mexico star Saul thought Leti felt uncomfortable talking about physical intimacy
While introducing herself, Leti confessed she was diagnosed with ADHD. People often misunderstood her words and she failed to explain herself. She mentioned that it impacted her previous relationships as well.
"Neurodivergence means you have a unique way of relating to people, and it's not always the easiest for other people to understand. I've done a lot of work on myself. and now I'd like to find a partner," said Leti.
After her first conversation with Saul, she thought she found her partner. She was immediately drawn to his personality and thought she could build a future with him. However, she felt a little uncertain when they spoke on the subject of physical intimacy.
Saul was surprised that Leti felt apprehensive about the honeymoon where the couples were encouraged to get intimate with each other. She asked him if he would be comfortable reserving that moment for "later on," to which Saul replied:
"You really don't think you'd be able to feel comfortable with me?"
She insisted he give their relationship some time before exploring the physical side of it. Sensing the discomfort in her voice, the Love is Blind: Mexico cast member said:
"S*x is very important for me, to be honest, but I'm very respectful. Obviously, I want you to be as comfortable as possible."
He clarified he was not just enticed by a "woman's physical attributes." He also valued his partner's intellectual capacity. While speaking to the cameras, he said that despite feeling uncomfortable discussing the matter, Leti eventually opened up.
Although he reassured Leti that he would respect her standpoint, his actions countered his statement. Since physical touch played a crucial role for him, he passionately kissed Leti when the two met during their engagement ceremony.
However, the Love is Blind: Mexico cast member projected himself in a way that made Leti uncomfortable. She was taken aback and felt the moment was "too intense." Additionally, the couple spent a quiet honeymoon, which bothered Saul. In episode 4, he confided in another contestant and said:
"It's all good, but she's also not a woman who is not very open to, um, anything s*xual. Anything intimate. She has a lot of fears."
Saul's bold approach was not reciprocated by Leti, compelling him to feel apprehensive. At the same time, when he interacted with Karen in episode 2, her experimental approach to physical intimacy seemed too extreme to him.
Although he admitted he had a liberal standpoint, he confessed he could not fulfill Karen's demands within a marriage.
Love is Blind: Mexico is currently streaming only on Netflix.
