Love is Blind: Argentina premiered on October 6 on Netflix and introduced a new batch of Latin American singles who seek to form romantic connections by engaging in conversations without initially seeing one another. As relationships advance, they experience glimpses of each other’s silhouettes and eventually meet in person, with emotional discoveries and bonds leading toward engagements and marriage proposals.
Brenda was one of the hopeful single trying her luck in the experiment. She was open about her two kids and her relationship with her last husband. She shared that her ex lost his battle with cancer, and it was very tough for her to handle the loss. She further expressed in her confessional that it took about two more years to process her grief, and overall, she had to endure five difficult years.
"He lost his battle to cancer. It was tough. It took about two more years to process my grief," Brenda shared in her confessional.
Love is Blind: Argentina star Brenda and Matias open up about their past losses
In her introductory confessional on Love is Blind: Argentina episode 3, Brenda disclosed that she is a single mother to two children—a nine-year-old and a twelve-year-old. Deeply devoted to her kids, she shared that they mean everything to her.
Brenda also opened up about her past relationship with their father, explaining that they never married and ultimately separated due to his repeated infidelities.
"My ex, the love of my life, soon became the true father to my children. It was a beautiful relationship. When he passed away, it was tough, because I lost the love of my life. Since then, I've been alone with my children," Brenda added.
The Love is Blind: Argentina star formed an instant connection with Matias. She told him about her kids, and he replied that his ex had kids and he got along great with them. This information touched Brenda's heart, who thought it was very cute.
On their later date, Brenda dwelled into her past and talked about her ex when Matias asked her if she ever wished to get married. The 34-year-old administrative consultant shared that she wanted to get married to her ex, however, they weren't able to because her partner passed away and it crushed her.
In his confessional, Matias admitted he was speechless after hearing Brenda's story, which deeply moved him. He sensed the intensity of her experience and empathized with how challenging that time must have been for the Love is Blind: Argentina contestant.
Brenda liked opening up to Matias, however, she wanted to know more about him and his hometown La Carlota. Matias explained that La Carlota was a small town outside Cordoba, and about 20,000 people lived there. However, Brenda was unsure about moving there because her two children attended a Montessori school, and their education was very important to her.
The Love is Blind: Argentina later asked Matias about his parents. He shared that both of his parents "passed away not too long ago." Though he struggled to make sense of their loss, he reflected on the valuable lessons it taught him. He further expressed sadness in his confessional that his parents wouldn't be able to see his connection blossom with Brenda.
Matias then open about his past relationship and told Brenda:
"To be honest with you, up until very recently, I was in a relationship, and it didn't work out. I think we had different priorities. So, we decided we should end it. After having gone through that, my family and friends became even more important to me. For me, they're my backbone. And they're what I miss the most now."
The couple eventually got enged in the episode, however, Matias told Brenda that he wanted to explore their relationship outside the experiment.
Love is Blind: Argentina episodes 1-4 are available on Netflix.
