"Kid on the playground that got picked last" — Big Brother star Brooklyn reflects on her relationship with Tucker

Big Brother season 26 released episode 18 on Thursday, August 22, 2024. It featured another elimination as Brooklyn Rivera became the show's fifth evictee. Cam and Chelsie were the other nominees at risk of going home. However, Chelsie won the AI Arena competition, gained immunity, and removed herself from the block.

With eight votes in her name, Brooklyn was sent packing. In an episode of Rob Has a Podcast, published on August 23, 2024, the Big Brother cast member discussed her elimination and how Tucker swayed it against her. She criticized Tucker's gameplay and said:

"I have said that Tucker is like a little kid on the playground that got picked last and is angry."

She claimed his erratic and unpredictable gameplay was a reflection of that. She added he wanted to be in the spotlight after being sidelined in the first couple of weeks. To steer attention towards him, Tucker targeted anyone and everyone in the house without any specific agenda while attempting to expose and ultimately sabotage their alliances.

When asked what caused almost every houseguest to turn against her, Brooklyn said it was because power rested in the hands of the wrong people.

"When boys get in charge, things go wrong," Brooklyn stated.

She explained her "downfall" started when Quinn used his Deepfake HoH (Head of Household) power to nominate Cedric the previous week. She admitted she made a mistake in trusting him and revealing her gameplay. As a member of the Pentagon, Brooklyn thought Quinn would not betray his fellow team members.

The Big Brother star believed Quinn got worried upon seeing the deeper connections the other Pentagon members had. As a result, when he was nominated in week 5's elimination, he convinced Tucker to take him off the block by unveiling the inner workings of the alliance. He painted Brooklyn as "the mastermind of things" and a potential threat to Tucker.

While speaking about Tucker, Brooklyn mentioned that he portrayed childish behavior and "got angry" only because everyone else was part of an alliance. Eventually, he started "blowing up other people's games" just for the sake of it.

Frustrated by his demeanor, she pleaded with the other houseguests to let her stay in the house, so she could "take the shot" and sabotage Tucker's game. She was prepared to face the consequences in case her plan fell through.

Since Tucker could not become HoH for two consecutive weeks, Brooklyn claimed she would do anything to ensure his eviction. However, her plan failed.

"I just think that he [Tucker] makes them nervous, but he doesn't want to play this game with anybody but himself," Brooklyn noted.

She claimed Tucker feared her and was convinced she was the Pentagon's leader. As a result, he was hellbent on following through on her eviction.

When asked who she would target if she were not eliminated from the Big Brother house, she answered, "Definitely Tucker obviously." She confessed she was unaware the AI Arena competition would return week after week. Tucker was a strong competitor who avoided elimination even when nominated by winning competitions and removing himself from the block.

She had a different plan for Tucker, which she hoped to implement if she stayed in the house.

"I thought there would only be two [AI Arena competitons] and I was gonna use T'Kor, Kimo, and Joseph on the line. Probably T'Kor and Joseph and then would have opened that back door for Tucker as fast as I possibly could have," Brooklyn explained.

However, she got evicted as she fell prey to Tucker's gameplay. In her exit interview with Big Brother host Julie Chen Moonves, she confessed she was ousted because she trusted the wrong people.
