"Mark Ballas was a phenomenal guest judge. I hope he comes back again and again! I loved his demonstration of technique, and I scribbled him a little note during the show that read, 'Len would be very proud of you,'" stated Carrie Ann.

Len Goodman was the former head judge of Dancing With the Stars, appearing until season 31 from its inception. He later died at the age of 78 on April 24, 2023. Mark knew Len long before the show, working with him as a junior professional dancer.

The current guest appearance of Mark Ballas was one of many that he has made after retiring as a pro dancer on Dancing With The Stars. Ballas made a return last season along with other pros to participate in a tribute dance to Len Goodman. He performed to Moon River in the style of Viennese waltz.

After Carrie Ann gave the handwritten note to Mark on the show, she felt gratitude from the latter. She expressed that the penmanship on the note was better since the guest judge asked to keep the note which in turn touched Carrie Ann deeply.
