What happened in Life After Lockup season 5 episode 42?
The episode of Life After Lockup picked up where it left off in the previous one as Rob's mother, Kate, remarked that she was going to be there for Rob but Tennie wasn't. This irked Tennie and she confronts Kate head-on by asking why she was behaving rudely with her. Eventually, the verbal disagreement led to fisticuffs while Rob tried to get in between the ladies.
He managed to calm the situation but Kate stormed off the premises claiming to be "done with this". Tennie emotionally explained that she did not like Kate's comments about the former not going to be there for her as Rob's mother did not show up during the 16 years he was in prison.
Their daughter Cheyenne managed to calm Tennie down on Life After Lockup and in a confessional stated that this was the first time she had seen her get this emotional.
"My heart dropped to my stomach. I don't know, just everything in my head, like, stopped," stated Cheyenne.
After reaching home, Rob expressed in a confessional that he had a special place in his heart for her mother as they were like "best friends" before his prison time. He further mulled over the fact that none of his friends showed up to his welcome home party despite him being there for them in their hour of need.
In Syracuse, Troy dealt with the news of Zeruiah not paying the rent for the past two months by walking out of the house. The latter went looking for him in the car but by then, Troy had already called up his friend as he wanted to clear his head. Zeruiah opened up in a confessional that she cheated on Troy a year back and was worried about Troy doing the same to her.
Troy's friend, Trey, showed up to have a conversation with the former on Life After Lockup. Trey revealed that the two had been friends since 11 and talked every day. Troy revealed to his friend that his head was turning in terms of staying clean amid the stress of financial troubles.
"I don't know if I should be patient or do something stupid and possibly go to f***ing prison again," expressed Troy.
Trey sat down with Troy on Life After Lockup and encouraged him to stay out of shady business the latter was a part of since he had worked hard to get out of that. Eventually, Trey dropped him off back at his home and looked to resolve the communication and financial issue with his wife.
On Life After Lockup, Michael shared how he left his music dreams for a 9-5 job to support his family but was interrupted by a call that made him leave work early. At home, Justine told him their sons had been fighting. Justine’s son, Santannah, accused Michael's son, Michael Jr., of bullying, which led to him throwing away his phone. Michael insisted he treated all the boys equally, but after reprimanding them, he lost his temper and punched a hole in the wall.
