Jana Kramer, widely known as a singer, actress, and former Dancing With the Stars (DWTS) contestant, recently participated in Fox’s The Masked Singer. Kramer's time on the show came to an end during the Group C finale when she was revealed as the Royal Knight.
Her unmasking came amidst a Thanksgiving-themed episode with performances, family moments, and a nod to A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. When asked in an interview with Entertainment Weekly on November 28 to compare her experiences on the two reality TV shows, Jana Kramer said,
"They were, in my opinion, lightyears different."

Thanksgiving highlight Group C finale
The Group C finale celebrated Thanksgiving with themed performances, family appearances, and a tribute to holiday traditions. Peanuts characters joined panelists Rita Ora and Robin Thicke for a rendition of You Make My Dreams Come True by Hall & Oates. Families of panelists, including Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg’s husband Donnie and Ken Jeong’s wife Ho, shared heartfelt messages. Contestants then delivered Thanksgiving-themed clues and performed popular hits.
Jana Kramer, as Royal Knight, performed Lee Ann Womack’s I Hope You Dance, earning recognition from McCarthy-Wahlberg, who correctly identified her. Kramer’s reveal highlighted her impressive career as a singer, actress, and author.
The Group C finale concluded with a Battle Royale between Strawberry Shortcake and Sherlock Hound. The latter was revealed as former MLB pitcher and musician Bronson Arroyo, while Strawberry Shortcake advanced to the quarterfinals.
Kramer on The Masked Singer vs. DWTS
Jana Kramer provided insight into her experience on The Masked Singer compared to DWTS. According to her, the two shows demanded different types of preparation and created distinct performance environments. Kramer explained,
“I felt like there was more pressure on Dancing With the Stars than with The Masked Singer...And also you're in a mask, so people don't really know who you are."
She also added,
"So it's like you truly can go out there and not really, I mean you still care, but you're also going out there and not being all eyes just on you because you can kind of hide underneath the mask a little bit, which is kind of nice.”
She noted that DWTS required participants to perform live in their own persona, saying,
"And then Dancing With the Stars, it's all you and all eyes on you. Everyone knows it's you, and so they're already picking you apart from the first step you take."
She emphasized that performing in a costume provided an additional layer of anonymity, allowing participants to focus on enjoying the experience rather than worrying about their public image. Conversely, Kramer described The Masked Singer as a more relaxed and enjoyable experience.
“With The Masked Singer, it was like even the producers were like, ‘Go out there and have a great time. Just go pump up the crowd. Have fun.’” she said.
This difference in pressure contributed to a more lighthearted experience on the show. Kramer concluded,
“As long as you go out there and have fun…I think it’s one of those things where it was definitely just more fun.”
