The drama on Too Hot to Handle season 6 continued as Netflix dropped the next episodes, 5-7, on July 26. As the AI host, Lana, continued to enforce her strict rules of no intimacy in the retreat, contestants were more tempted to break them, as seen in multiple rule breaks by the couples.
The love triangle began in Too Hot to Handle when the new arrival, Valentina, chose to go on a date with Demari, leading Bri to the banishment quarters. The kiss shared by Valentina and Demari during their beach date upset Bri and also cost the group $6,000.
During the cabana discussion, after a heated spat between Valentina and Lucy, Bri said to Valentina that she did not see Demari being all that intimate with her following their date, to which Valentina responded:
"Well, he liked me enough to leave you, so."
This threw Demari into an awkward situation, as expressed by him, making him choose between Bri and Valentina.
Valentina shades Bri in a heated exchange in episode 5 of Too Hot to Handle
During the beach date in Too Hot to Handle, Valentina and Demari end up sharing a kiss, leading to a rule break in the villa while also costing the group. Demari came back from the retreat and confessed this to Bri, which made Bri angry. She expressed this in the confession, too, saying that Demari could tell her goodbye and find some other place to sleep tonight.
In the cabana discussion, when Demari apologized to the group for the rule break, Valentina reasoned that it was okay since it was her first date, to which Charlie jokingly replied, "invalid." This seemed to have triggered Valentina as she took Charlie's comment seriously and asked if it was invalid because it wasn't him.
She further went on to say that it wasn't her fault that he did not like Lucy that much to kiss her. Meanwhile, Lucy felt her comment was disrespectful and rude and asked Valentina to not disrespect her.
To support Lucy and to retort back at Valentina, Bri chimed in and said that Demari considered that money spent as 'frivolous spending,' expressing her disappointment in his decision. To this, Valentina replied that he liked her enough to leave Bri, creating a moment of silence among all the contestants.
As episode 5 continued, Demari was seen not giving up on his bond with Bri and trying to make things right with her. They had a private conversation in which he expressed his desire for them to get back together. Bri replied to him:
"Honestly, right now, I don't care to get to know you more."
Navigating relationships and rule breaks in Too Hot to Handle
In episode 5 of Too Hot to Handle, Lana announced the rule breaks that had happened in the night. She asked the contestants to own up to their mistakes or the penalty would be doubled. Joao and Flavia raised their hands and told the group about their actions, which cost the group $16,000.
Meanwhile, Louis and Katherine ended up spending $40,000 because of their actions. Lana told everyone that there had been nine rule breaks and gave the contestants a final warning about their decisions. The prize fund now stands at $137,000, which was $250,000 at the beginning of the show Too Hot to Handle.
The introduction of the "Reflecting the Real You" workshop, led by intimacy coach Brenden Durell in Too Hot to Handle, made everyone look into their inner selves and feelings. Bri, Demari, Charlie, and Katherine ended up opening up about their insecurities and fears that decided their behavior. Their revelations about their vulnerabilities caused some dynamic changes between the couples on the show.
As the 5th episode came to an end, the tension and drama increased between Bri, Demari, and Valentina. The dynamic between Lucy and Charlie, as well as Louis and Katherine, also shifted as the workshop made Charlie admit his attraction towards Katherine.
With the prize fund reaching such a low amount, contestants became more aware of following Lana's rules, as seen in the episode. Episodes 5-7 of Too Hot to Handle are available on Netflix.
