Fans of Love Island USA are still in a bittersweet feeling after season 6 of the show officially ended on August 19 with the reunion episode. Possibly the most popular season of the show, season 6 gained traction because of its amazing cast that dwelled in the brand-new Fiji villa, constructed specially for the newest season.
Looking at the grandiosity of the place, some Love Island fans wondered how the maintenance worked while filming the show and how often the sheets were changed. On August 20, 2024, several stars were asked this question in an interview with E! News. While most of the cast members said they were satisfied with the cleaning services, some pointed out specific details that put them off.
Kaylor Martin said that contrary to popular belief, the sheets were probably not changed every day. She mentioned:
"They claim they change them every day, but I know they don't. I would wear perfume to bed, wake up, and smell it the next day I'm sleeping in it. So, I don't know how often. That's probably a little concerning".
What do other Love Island USA season 6 stars have to say about changing sheets in the villa?
It is only obvious that the makers hired a regular cleaning team for the luxurious villa, built exclusively for Love Island USA. The villa had all the contestants share a room full of beds, which made fans curious about the frequency of clean-ups. E! News asked the contestants the coveted question.
Kenny Rodriguez said he thought they changed them regularly and that the cleaning team in Fiji was great and made them feel "so at home". Kordell Beckham too only had good things to say about the villa's cleanliness. He shared that the sheets were changed every time they woke up.
And after Kaylor mentioned the sheets weren't changed every day, she added that they still were changed often and cleared that they didn't live in "filth". Kenny Rodriguez highlighted something that concerned him:
"There was a Band-Aid that I saw under the covers multiple days. So, yeah, that was one thing I was iffy about him saying".
Liv Walker was also asked the same question. She noted the fact that with so many people in the house, things wouldn't work out if the living conditions of the place weren't up-to-date.
Revealing the truth about some of the contestants, Liv said that some of them were germophobes and complained if the sheets weren't changed every day. She noted that she was sure they changed the sheets because she wouldn't see most female contestants' long hair in the bed.
There was also a reason why the villa mates weren't sure if the sheets indeed were changed on a daily basis. The contestants were never in the bedroom once they woke up, they would either be at the breakfast place, or the girls would be in the dressing room, which made them unsure about what went on in the bedroom after they left.
Kaylor even called the Love Island USA housekeepers "magical ghosts" who would go in and change the sheets when no one was around. Kordell, on the other hand, claimed to have seen the cleaning staff. He said:
"I'll come back in the room to grab something I forgot, and I'll see them take the sheets off, change them. Even saw some of them was changing the pillowcases as well. Taking those off, changing them to new ones, cleaning the room, carpet—all of that".
Lastly, he credited the islanders for keeping the place clean by saying that there wasn't much of a mess because the room was always tidy. But maybe that was just because the cleaners always took care of it.
Love Island USA season 6 is available to watch on Peacock.
