What happened in Love After Lockup episode 51?
The first couple introduced was 32-year-old medical records supervisor, Tia, and 32-year-old Rob, convicted of first-degree robbery and credit card fraud. Tia called Rob her "divine counterpart" and "twin flame," praising their physical chemistry. Meanwhile, Rob was thrilled about leaving prison in the next 45 days.
The female cast member revealed that she met Rob through her cousin, who was married to Rob's sister. Tia confessed that they immediately connected when they had their first conversation eight months ago.
While speaking to the cameras, Rob revealed he had been in and out of prison in the past sixteen years. Although he grew up in a happy family with his parents, financial hurdles always troubled them, so the Love After Lockup star started selling drugs at 14 in hopes of earning money. At 24, he was arrested for first-degree robbery and got a 10-year sentence but was serving eight and a half.
Now that his sentence was nearing its end, he was ready to become "a productive member" of society. However, Rob's plans post-release displeased Tia. When she discovered that he planned to invite his family on the first day and have strippers on the second, she criticized him for ignoring her.
Later in the Love After Lockup episode, Tia revealed that she had been in a severely abusive relationship, during which she broke some bones. Her cousin, Toya, urged her to focus on healing herself and giving her relationship with Rob her earnest effort.
Tia was caught off guard when she discovered that Rob planned on paroling with another woman in Brooklyn. Rob explained that he was unsure if he wanted to move in with Tia right away.
"If Rob playing me, that would really break my heart," Tia said.
The next couple on Love After Lockup was Sam and his wife, Krystal. While Sam worked as an EMT, Krystal was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He believed Krystal was his soulmate, who he met on a website.
While describing her charge, Krystal revealed that she cut her ex-husband's forehead using a kitchen knife after they got into a heated argument. She added that she had completed seven years out of her 14-year sentence.
Sam referred to Krystal as the "puppet master," explaining how she prevented him from visiting social gatherings. Although it upset him, the Love After Lockup star vowed never to disobey her. He confessed before the cameras that he married her knowing he would have to wait seven years for her release. Meanwhile, Krystal struggled to trust Sam, convinced he had some secrets.
In another segment of the Love After Lockup episode, Chenoa talked to her daughter Savannah's partner, Bradly, over the phone, inquiring him about his life goals, convinced their relationship was "toxic."
Savannah, a 27-year-old bartender, chimed in on her mother's concerns, saying they were "valid" since she was dating Bradly, who used to be her weed dealer.
"I don't know if Bradley has stayed sober in prison. I've never asked but if you wanna get high, you're gonna get high," Chenoa said.
Despite her mother's worries about a relapse, Savannah defended Bradly, convinced he was a changed man. However, Chenoa feared Savannah would stray from her path, provoked by Bradly's old habits.
The last couple shown in the episode was Kate and Hunter. While Kate was a yoga instructor, Hunter was a felon convicted of driving under the influence of marijuana. The Love After Lockup couple found themselves in a difficult position after Hunter revealed that he was written up for having inappropriate interactions with multiple women.
While speaking to the cameras, Kate revealed that she put Hunter on Write A Prisoner, which allowed others to chat with him and pay for his expenses inside prison. However, some of those video calls became intimate which the officers noticed.
When Hunter stated that the punishment could delay his release, Kate requested that he break up with them, but he hesitated since he received around $2000 each month from these women. Despite feeling hurt, Kate expected Hunter to sever ties with them, unaware of his romantic connection with one of those women.
