Love is Blind: Brazil returned to Netflix with a brand new season on June 19, 2024. This season featured contestants who already have been in serious relationships previously. Individuals from all walks of life gathered together to give love another shot.

From single parents to recent divorcees, the roster promised maturity, as the contestants appeared ready to marry and settle with a potential partner. However, 34-year-old entrepreneur, Alexandre Thomaz, and 33-year-old lawyer, Renata Giaffredo's journey on Love is Blind: Brazil season 4 hit a rough patch soon after it started.

Renata did not hesitate to voice her views on men's fashion sense. Her concrete opinions on other people's looks and dressing styles irked Alexandre. As a result, he criticized Renata's assertive personality. Alexandre commented:

"You're too cocky, you think way too much about surface stuff."

Appearance plays a key role for Renata when choosing a partner

After failing to form a relationship with Patrick in episode 1 due to a miscommunication from the latter's side, Renata walked into the pods hoping the Love is Blind: Brazil experiment helped her find her best match. However, it was harder than it appeared since she had specific demands from her potential partner look-wise.

She interacted with three male cast members before Alexandre, but none left a significant impression on her. One of the suitors said he preferred "casual" outfits, earning Renata's disapproval. Renata mentioned:

"I like elegant guys, and I'm not really into guys who wear, like, pullovers or like, sweatpants or something."

While interacting with Alexandre, she discovered what people thought of her. She was known as the "preppy" one, but that did not bother Renata. During her time in the confessional, she revealed:

"It didn't bother me at all to hear that people described me like that. It's probably because of my outlook, or my opinions."

Renata also stated that she dressed classy and preferred wearing high heels. The "grungy" look was something that was not for her.

Alexandre criticized Renata for being fixated on the appearance

In episode 2 of Love is Blind: Brazil, Alexandre hit it off with Renata instantly. He felt their lifestyles matched and that they reciprocated their needs to a great extent. However, Renata imagined Alexandre to be a specific kind and stated she would not feel nice if he looked any other way. She said:

"I imagine Alexandre to have, like, a cool style, very laid back and casual, maybe with his hair brushed to one side, you know something like that."

Alexandre was ready to propose to Renata when the latter's comments affected the situation negatively. She was sure not to pursue her relationship with Alexandre if he did not look as she pictured him. She said:

"If you're like how I picture you, I'll, like, I'll love you so much."

She shared she never dated someone "chubby" and would struggle to bond with someone like that. Enraged by Renata's display of conditional love, Alexandre criticized her stark opinions.

He confronted her about her choice to judge someone by their looks, accusing her of being "too cocky" and showcasing a "shallow" demeanor.

Renata was taken aback by Alexandre's reaction and tried to resolve the situation by admitting she was joking. However, he refused to forgive her and accused her of coming to the wrong show, where people are supposed to forge connections without considering physical appearance. Renata returned to the other girls and confessed that she made a mistake.
