The Love is Blind: Germany episode started with Ilias struggling to come clean to his partner, Alina, about his growing feelings for Hanni. The more he delayed expressing himself, the more guilty he felt about being unfair to Alina. However, he hesitated to open up, unsure if he was overanalyzing his attraction for Hanni.
Elsewhere, Marcel expressed concern about Jen's conversation with Tolga, during which they discussed his temper and lack of liveliness. While Jen worried Marcel was overthinking, Marcel promised to come out of his "shell" and be more assertive.
Tolga and Shila returned to their room feeling unsure about their connection. Upon hearing how pressured and unloved Tolga felt, Shila suggested they end things. While speaking to the cameras, the Love is Blind: Germany star confessed Shila felt like a "total stranger."
The following morning, when Ilias asked Alina if his closeness with Hanni bothered her, she said no, stating that such equations often become a "friendship thing" until feelings get involved. Although Ilias agreed with Alina, he confessed to doubting his connection with her. Meanwhile, Hanni and Daniel enjoyed a romantic date and grew closer to one another.
"Honestly, right now, I can't find any faults between us," she told Daniel.
Ilias found himself in a tough spot when Alina asked him what he would do if Hanni ever showed interest in pursuing him. Ilias struggled to answer Alina's question, giving her a vague reply and upsetting her. It compelled Alina to wonder if her Love is Blind: Germany partner hadn't been honest about his feelings. It made her feel insecure as she criticized herself for being too "naive."
Elsewhere, tensions reached a boiling point between Tolga and Shila. The couple realized it was time to part ways instead of dragging on a relationship they were not invested in. While Tolga mentioned his feelings had changed, Shila revealed she still loved him. However, at the same time, Shila was aware of how detached they were.
"We grew apart. It was a curse and a blessing," Tolga said.
For those reasons, Tolga and Shila mutually decided to end their relationship. An emotional Shila hoped that she could remain friends with him after the show.
Another segment of Love is Bind: Germany episode 5 saw the remaining couples gather for a pool party, during which Pascal discussed his difficulty in accepting Shella as his partner. He revealed their connection lacked "the spark," which made him uncertain about building a future with her.
While Shella complained about Pascal's uncertainty and insecurity, Jen stated she had to hold back so she didn't become "too much" for Marcel. Alina added to the conversation, expressing frustration over Ilias' fixation with Hanni. Upon hearing that, Hanni offered to talk to Ilias to find out if he wanted to explore other connections.
During his conversation with Hanni, Ilias confessed:
"With you, I can 100% say that it's not only a friendship. I feel it's something more with you, and I think about where this could go, and I think that's the reason I feel bad. And it feels wrong talking to you right now."
The Love is Blind: Germany star then criticized Hanni for confusing him by having the conversation. While speaking to the cameras, Hanni stated that Ilias had "left the door open" and was sending her "signals." However, she showed no interest in reciprocating his feelings, remaining confident in her relationship with Daniel.
Later, Tolga arrived at the party and informed everyone about his breakup with Shila. The announcement encouraged Pascal to address his feelings about Shella and admit that he didn't feel romantically drawn toward her. Later in the day, the Love is Blind: Germany cast member told Shella that he could not pursue a "serious relationship" with her, breaking Shella's heart.
At the end of the episode, Alina confronted Ilias about his chat with Hanni. Ilias confessed that he couldn't change his feelings for Hanni even though he knew it disrespected Alina. Elsewhere, Hanni assured Daniel that he had nothing to worry about since her conversation with Ilias was only a "test."
