Love is Blind Habibi episode 7 recap: Family meetings prove fruitful for one couple but cause a divide among others

Love is Blind Habibi episode 7 premiered on October 10, on Netflix. The dating experiment brought Arab singles to find love without ever seeing each other and forming emotional connections.

After getting engaged in the pods the couple went on a vacation to learn more about each other. Love is Blind Habibi couples then met their respective partner's friends and family, to further establish their relationship.

Mohammad and Safa received their families' blessing and officially exchanged rings in front of them. Meanwhile, Khatab and Asma continued to seek approval as their wedding date approached. Titled Family Matters the synopsis of the episode reads:

"Familiar faces crash a night out on the town, taking the couples by surprise. The parents help progress some engagements, while others instill doubt."

The family meeting continues

At the start of Love is Blind Habibi episode 7, Dounia meets Chafic's grandparents and discusses the dynamic of their relationship. Chafic's grandparents loved Dounia and her values.

After having a group chat, Chafic's grandfather pulled him for a private conversation and advised him to respect Dounia to receive her respect as well. He told Chafic:

"Listen to me, son. When you respect her, this makes her respect you. And when you respect her mother, it makes her respect yours. It seems that she's educated in one manner. I wish you luck, my child. And I hope this will be the start of a wonderful life together."

Elsewhere in the episode, Mohammad received the opportunity to meet Safa's family. Upon his arrival, he was bombarded with several questions about his relationship with Safa. Mohammad felt like he was in court waiting for his sentence. When Safa's mom asked Mohammad if he was okay with Safa's work and her busy schedule, he replied:

"When I first talked to Safa about her work, she said she's passionate about her work, and she worked hard on that project. I won't let myself be the person who will come around and, for example... Excuse me for saying this. I won't deny her something that she's been working on, okay? What matters to me is that she's happy."

Safa's family was quite happy with Mohammad after their group conversation. They commended him for the compassion he had for Safa and gave their blessing for the future of their relationship.

Later in the episode, Mohammad returned with his father to ask for Safa's hand from her brother. Safa's brother appreciated them for their cultural proposal and agreed to go forward with Safa and Mohammad's upcoming wedding.

All 3 couples joined in for a group date. They were also joined by Love is Blind Habibi singles, Karim, Mido, and Nour. The cast was not delighted when Nour stated that she has "high standards", implying that Mido was below her standards.

Karim was interested in Safa, however, she told him that she was happy with Mohammad and that he would also find the partner he was looking for. Karim then pulled Nour for a private conversation, where he told her that he was interested in her and asked her out on a date.

Khatab struggles to meet Asma's parents

Khatab and Asma shared a gym session. Asma informed Khatab that she talked to her parents, however, they hadn't "registered" their relationship and the Love is Blind experiment

Khatab then had a conversation with his uncle, where he shared his experience on the show. When his uncle asked when they would get to meet Asma, he explained that her parents had asked him to meet them first before she met his family. Asma lived in Canada, which posed a challenge for Khatab to proceed in their relationship.

Later on, Dounia visited Chafic's house and was surprised to see things kept here and there, as well as untidy. Further, while choosing the arrangement style for their wedding, the couple had different ideas in mind which caused a conflict. 6 days before the wedding, the couple sat down to have a conversation to clear misunderstandings.

However, Chafic was not happy with Dounia's wish to include her mom in every decision. Their conversation ends with teary-eyed Dounia trying to explain the significance of her mother in her life.
