Love is Blind: Mexico debuted on Thursday, August 1, 2024. Eligible singles from various walks of life participated in the experiment hoping to find love. Unable to see the person they interacted with, the cast members were compelled to form emotional connections instead of superficial ones. They tested their compatibility by asking each other various personal questions.

Fernando connected with three women in the pods — Rocio, Irais, and Karen. Fernando outgrew his interest in Rocio and Irais after a misunderstanding caused them to turn against one another. He then pursued Karen, who reciprocated his advances. They immediately developed a romantic connection.

By the end of Episode 2, Fernando proposed to Karen, and the two got engaged. He informed Irais about his feelings for Karen and urged her to pursue someone else.

Love is Blind: Mexico star Fernando thinks Karen is "perfect"

Fernando initially connected with Rocio and Irais in episode one. Irais, satisfied by the route their connection took, told the other women they were getting married. When Rocio confronted Fernando about it, he denied giving such assurances to Irais. Despite the revelations, Rocio's relationship with Fernando was scarred, and they eventually broke up.

"One wrong move can sever a relationship like it did with Rocio, and now I'm trying to trust Irais. You connect with more than one person, and that's just how it goes here,' said Fernando.

While he looked forward to starting a new journey with Irais in Episode 2, his attention steered to Karen. Her perspective on life and how she approached a romantic relationship impressed Fernando.

"I see people for who they are on the inside. I mean, I always focus on their real inner beauty and don't focus on their external side," said Karen.

The Love is Blind: Mexico couple agreed that the most important value in a partner was empathy. They were happy seeing they had similar opinions about family, relationships, and life.

When Karen returned from the pods, she talked to Irais about Fernando. Irais refused to share information about him because he was her "number one." She felt relieved when Karen stated they only talked about "things that aren't that important."

"Whichever one of us is meant to be will be," said Irais.

Fernando and Karen grew closer to each other on their second date on Love is Blind: Mexico. Karen confided in Fernando about her ex-partner. She revealed she was in a live-in relationship with him, and soon discovered that he lied to her about his orientation.

Fernando was devastated to learn that Karen's ex-partner cheated on her with another man. The Love is Blind: Mexico cast member added that when she tried to confront him about his lies, he physically hurt her. Fernando said the person's actions were an "act of cowardice." He then reassured Karen that he would be a better partner to her.

To console Karen, Fernando opened up about his relationship with his father who was a drug addict. He confessed he severed ties with him after he cheated on his mother. Those conversations brought them closer and consolidated their relationship.

Although Fernando developed a connection with Karen, he told Irais she was in his "top two." However, when Karen professed her feelings to Fernando, he accepted them and decided to end things with Irais.

"I thought I would get rejected but I love his response," said Karen.

Irais gifted Fernando a book and a teddy bear, hoping he would continue their relationship. When she asked if he wanted to continue seeing her, Fernando replied, "No."

Later Fernando proposed to Karen and gifted her three sweaters, two for them and one for Karen's daughter. The Love is Blind: Mexico cast member was impressed by his proposal and said yes when he asked for her hand in marriage.
