Since its first season, Love is Blind has captured the attention of audiences across the world. While the show was initially launched in the US, it has since been released in other countries and regions as well, including Brazil, the UK, Japan, Sweden, and most recently, Mexico.
The first four episodes of the Mexico iteration of the show were released on Netflix on Thursday, August 1, 2024. The show's concept was the same, with singles having conversations through pods and trying to fall in love without seeing each other. The contestants only meet after they get engaged and are subsequently taken on a romantic retreat.
Episode 3 of Love is Blind: Mexico saw contestants who liked each other continue their conversations. René and Irais, Francesca and Willy, and Chema and Sylvia took their journeys to the next level.
The official synopsis for Episode 3 of Love is Blind: Mexico reads:
"As Chema chooses between his two top loves, Francesca seems to find someone who outshines Prince charming. Next up for the couples: Tulum."
René and Irais: Bond Tested in the Real World in Love is Blind: Mexico
Episode 3 of Love is Blind: Mexico took a dramatic turn after René and Irais, who had a strong connection in the pods, seemed to face unexpected challenges. Initially, they began to like talking to each other, and René told Irais that she could count on him. They both decided to be exclusive with each other.
Later in the episode, René proposed to Irais, telling her that she had made him "see and believe in love again." He asked her to be the yin to his yang.
"You are the person I choose to share my joys and my sorrows with. So I'm asking you, Irais, will you marry me," René said.
Irais agreed and they decided to meet each other. Although René loved Irais in her person too and told her she was exactly how he imagined her to be, Irais felt a disconnect. She claimed to have felt a disconnect between the person she spoke to and the person she met. Her realization resulted in the elimination of both contestants from the show.
A Glimpse into Future Commitments in Love is Blind: Mexico
In episode 3, Willy and Franseca discussed their relationship expectations. She made it clear that she would want her future husband to be the father to her daughter, Mila. Willy responded enthusiastically, which had Francesca feeling delighted.
Willy then proposed to Francesca, who accepted it, and she also spoke about seeing him for the first time.
"When I first saw him, I almost passed out. It was so emotional, I couldn't stop shaking," the cast member said.
Meanwhile, Chema was torn between Sylvia and Alejandra. He finally decided to propose to Slyvia, and she immediately said yes. The episode captures their first face-to-face meeting, where Chema romantically presented Sylvia with a ring, and she happily accepted it.
As Episode 3 of Love is Blind: Mexico concluded, five engaged couples started their journey by going on a romantic retreat designed to test their connections. With 30 days until their weddings, Gerardo and Fernanda, Karen and Fernando, Chema and Sylvia, Leti and Saul, and Francesca and Willy ventured into a new phase of their relationships.
The retreat will serve as a litmus test for their compatibility, where couples face personal insecurities, cultural differences, and the realities of living together. It will help them understand each other and determine whether their match is as compatible as it was in the pod.
