Love is Blind: Mexico premiered on Netflix on Thursday, August 1, 2024. Four episodes were released from a lineup of 11 episodes. It featured the cast members interacting with each other and forming strong connections.
Eager to embark on a journey of love, the contestants opened up about their personal lives and revealed the qualities they looked for in a partner. In episode 3, Francesca Oettler and Willy Salomon formed a connection with each other.
After discussing various subjects, they realized they shared a similar mentality. While Francesca looked for someone who would love her and her daughter, Willy promised to play that role. Upon realizing he had developed feelings for her, he proposed. Francesca accepted his proposal and soon the Love is Blind: Mexico couple got engaged.
Love is Blind: Mexico star Willy wants to build a family with Francesca
Francesca participated in the show, looking for a man who could establish a family for her and her 11-year-old daughter, Mila. She wanted a "king" who could "create a beautiful love story" for them.
On the other hand, Willy confessed that he struggled to find love. He hoped he could connect with someone authentic and confident in the pods. During their first date, the Love is Blind: Mexico cast member revealed he expected a relationship to have teamwork. He was against the idea of men having to provide everything.
"A definite no for me is a woman who assumes that the man is responsible for doing everything in the relationship. For me, that makes the s*x appeal drop drastically," said Willy.
At the end of their date, Willy confessed that he liked talking to Francesca since they shared common interests.
On their second date, the duo discussed family dynamics. Francesca mentioned she did not share a cordial relationship with Mila's father. Then, when Willy asked her if she wanted more children, Francesca said she did but first needed reassurance from her husband that he would love Mila equally.
Hearing that, Willy said:
"I mean, I would have assumed that if I marry you then that makes Mila my family too."
Impressed by his response, Francesca told him that he reminded her of her stepfather, who loved her as his own child. While speaking to the cameras, she confessed that she could feel the confidence and strength with which he made those statements.
"Willy speaks with such calmness. I definitely really like him, and he's still my number one," said Francesca.
The duo's connection faced a hiccup when Willy noted he felt skeptical about the experiment. Since he struggled to fall in love, he feared progressing in the relationship without knowing the other person entirely. During his confessional, he mentioned there was not "enough time to take it all in and process everything."
Francesca reassured him his feelings were justified. The Love is Blind: Mexico star admitted he was enticed by her and wanted to love both her and her daughter. The sense of security Willy presented, helped Francesca realize her feelings for him.
"It's like this, if it's not with you, then this experiment is over for me, and that's okay, I accept that, but I can't lie to myself," said Francesca.
Willy agreed to be her boyfriend and asked her to call him by his nickname "Guille." On their next date, Francesca gifted him a red ball of string that represented the unbreakable "power of love and energy." She put her trust in him by being willing to share Mila.
Following the confession, Willy proposed to Francesca. The Love is Blind: Mexico couple was thrilled to meet each other during their first encounter. They ultimately got engaged and shared a passionate kiss. The duo then headed to Tulum to enjoy a romantic getaway.
"I can see us happy, laughing with Mila, with our future kids. I can't believe that love really is blind," said Francesca.
Love is Blind: Mexico will return with episodes 5-8 on August 8, 2024.
